practice writing the number 14 in their math booklets.

● Have students make sure their name is at the top
of their papers, explain that Kingston’s number is
14 in the class so I will have him collect everyone’s
booklets to hand to me
● Bring in a talking stick, explain that this is a way
for everyone to be able to hold the talking stick,
when someone is holding it it means it is there
turn to talk
● Pass the talking stick around and ask students
questions about the number 14 or about number
review
● This will be my closure activity to make sure
students understand, talking sticks are also part of
FMNI content where it is used within storytelling
and talking circles
● Make sure we have enough time for this so I will
need to be conscious of time
● This will create a fun engaging activity where each
student has a chance to share and it helps make
math more excting
