Narrative report in mapeh culminating activity The said culminating

activity was held at Camarines Norte State College Main Campus on October 12 and
13, 2015. Friday (October 9, 2015) before the said activity, together with my group
mates in the cook-out contest held a meeting to talk about the dishes we are going
to cook. We have decided to cook Sweet ‘n Sour Meat Balls as pour second dish that
we are going to present to Ma’am Cabrejas and to the judges. In the said meeting,
we listed all the ingredients we need to buy in the market and when are we going to
buy.

On Sunday afternoon (October 11), together with Ressa Mae, Fidely Joy,
Evelyn and Roanne, we went to the market to buy all the stuffs we need – from the
pot that we are goung to use for the games, the pabitin and the stuffs we need to
put in the pabitin such as lollipops, jelly aces, candies and so much more. After
buying those, we proceed to the vegetable sections of the market to buy the veggies
we need for the chopsuey and meat balls. After completing the lists of veggies and
other dry ingredients we need, we proceeded to the meat section of the market to
buy the meats we need such as pork giniling, chicken’s liver and pork. We also
bought quail eggs for our chopsuey.

After buying all the stuffs we need and since we still have lots of
time, we decided to prepare the pabitin. We packed the candies in a plastic bag
that suits for making ice. Since we have bought many packs of different candies, we
ate some of it while packing.

On Monday (October 12), the first day of our culminating activity, our
block section thought that it is the day when we are going to cook so we brought
with us our ingredients and cooking tools but we are wrong.

Ma’am Cabrejas called us to explain on what we are going to do. She

demonstrated the proper way of making the table using only the bamboo, bangyasan
and plastic straw. After demonstrating, she told us to work now for our table and
chairs. After we finished our tables, she inspected it if it was well-built by
riding on our tables and lightly shaking her body on top of it. She told us to have
our lunch break first and to just continue our work once we are back because it is
already past 12 in the afternoon and we are still working on our chairs.

In the afternoon, before Ma’am dismissed us, she taught us how to make
an improvised water container using bangyasan, plastic straw, big plastic and sack.
She also reminded us on what to bring the nest day, after telling us, she told us
to clean our area and we can go home already.

On Tuesday (October 13), the second day of our culminating activity, we

go to school before 8 am to prepare all the materials and ingredients for the cook-
out and games. But before that, we first prepare our pabitin. We tied the packs to
the pabitin’s stick by means of plastic straw. After we prepare our pabitin, we
started moving to prepare our ingredients in cooking.

We wash all the ingredients. And of-course, all the people who are
involved in cooking are required to wear apron to ensure the cleanliness. We also
have a plastic bag for our trashes.

We first prepare the garlic, onions, and ginger for sautéing. We first
fried the meat balls because it needs time to cook specially that we made almost a
hundred numbers of balls. Our meat balls were composed of pork giniling, garlic,
onion, egg, hotdogs, bread crumbs, corn starch, pickles carrots and potatoes. After
the meat balls were cooked and were golden brown in color, we now prepare our sweet
and sour sauce. Our sauce is a sautéed garlic, onion and ginger (for flavoring and
is an optional in cooking), we next put our sweet and sour mixture which we melted
in water, and we also put our carrots where we shaped like a flower and the bell
pepper and seasoning to taste. We let it boil and viola! Our sweet and sour meat
balls are now cooked!

After the sweet and sour meat balls, we cooked the chopseuy. We sauté
the garlic and onion. We next put the meat and let it cooked. After a while we now
put the veggies and let it cook. After a while we put the boiled quail eggs and the
liver of the chicken which we cook in a separate pan because we forgot to sauté it.
We also put melted flour to make the sauce of the chopseuy and little bit thicker
and put some seasonings to taste.

In preparing the presentation, we made sure that our dishes will surely
make presentable and will looks like you are eating in a high class restaurant
because of its plating.

Together with my group mates, we decided to have a boodle fight, in a

leaf of a banana tree, we put rice and spread the viands. It really feels good
eating with you ‘clean bare hands’.

After eating, we have given some times to rest and after that we are
called to start the games. It was really a great experience. Together with the
other blocks, we share a very tiring but happy and joyful afternoon with a great
experience.
