SECTION A – NOVEL
TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD – HARPER LEE
1. Discuss the childhood world of Jem, Scout, and Dill and their relationship with Boo Radley
in Part One of the novel. [20]
2. Describe the incident of the mob outside the jailhouse with a reference to its presentation
of the theme of racism and innocence of children. [20]
3. Contrast the character of Ms. Maudie Atkinson and Aunt Alexandra and the relationship
Scout shares with both. [20]
4. In Act 1 of the play, Biff and Happy’s conversation in the bedroom, followed by Willy’s
flashback into their childhood years, provides a tremendous insight into their characters.
