Methodology
A. Research Design
This study contains quantitative design because it is designed with way of collecting and
obtaining data from different sources and seeks an answer leading to a numerical data.
This study is also descriptive in nature because it attains information through knowing the
increasing rate of plastic usage in the Philippines as well as the plastics commonly used in every
household.
B. The Sample
The 30 respondents are from Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy Quezon Street Mati City
Davao Oriental selected randomly from Junior High up to Senior High School.
C. The Instruments
The researcher made use of a survey questionnaire to gather data needed from the
respondents. The researcher also used the Likert scale wherein it states 1-Not familiar 2-someho
w Familiar,3-Familiar, 4-Very familiar

The Level of Awareness of Ihmacians towards the effects of AIDS on Health.
The Questions number 1 and 4 stated “I use single-use plastics or sachets (toothpaste, shampoo
and other personal and home necessities.)” and “I store plastic packaging cellophanes.” has the
highest mean which says that most Ihmacians use and store plastics in their households. While
the lowest mean is 2.83 in Question 3 wherein stated “I use labo (transkucent) bags or
cellophanes always.” The overall mean is 2.2 which means the Ihmacians uses this different
plastic usage sometimes in their households.
