asked, 'O Messenger of Allah! Who will be the Imam of the people at that time?' He
said, 'He will be from my progeny and will be forty years of age. His face will shine
like a star and he will have a small black spot on his right cheek. He will don two
Qutwāni cloaks as if he is from the Israelites. He will rule for twenty (20) years and
will conquer the cities of the Mushrikoon (polytheists)." Tabarani

31.] Narrated by Hudhaifa that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "Woe to this nation from
the dictatorship of kings! Why do they kill and make pious people fear except
those who obey them, and the pure believer soothes them with his tongue but
resists them with his heart? If Allah wishes to revive Islam in might He will break
the back of every stubborn tyrant. He is able to do anything and can reform the
nation after its corruption. O Hudhaifa! If there remains but one day left in the
world Allah will prolong that day until a man (Imam Al-Mahdi) from the family of
my House will govern and fierce battles will be in his hands, and Islam will spread.
Allah does not change His Promise and He is quick to recompense." Abu Nu'aym,

32.] Ka'b said, "The Mahdi will not be (from any tribe) other than (from) Quraish.
The Caliphate is not (from any tribe) other than Quraish. However, he has an origin

33.] Ali bin Abi Talib said, "If Sufyāni's cavalry march to Kufa (the conquest of Iraq),
the people of Khurasan will be requested to come to its aid. The people of
Khurasan will come out seeking the Mahdi. So the Hashimi (Imam Al-Mahdi) with
an army carrying Black Flags, at it's front end is Shua'ib Ibn Salih, will meet the
followers of the Sufyāni (General Dhul Urf) at the Istakhar Gate and a great battle
will occur between them. The Black flags will be victorious. Sufyani's Cavalry will
run away. At that time, people will wish for the Mahdi (to come to Iraq) and ask for
him (that they may give their bay'ah to him)." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

34.] Ka'b said, "The Mahdi will not be (from any tribe) other than (from) Quraish.

35.]  "Al-Azdi (a Yamani tribe) are the lions of Allah on the earth, the people intend
to degrade them, however Allah refuses but to elevate them, and there shall come
upon the people a time when a man shall say, "Oh if only my father was an Azdee!
Oh if only my mother was an Azdiyyah!" Ghareeb Hadith, Sunan At-Tirmidhi

36.] Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudriy reported that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "The Mahdi is
from me (my progeny) and will have a broad, clear (high) forehead and a
prominent (acquiline) nose and will fill the earth with fairness and justice as it was
filled with oppression and injustice and will reign for seven years." Abu Dawud

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudriy reported that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "The earth will be
filled with injustice and corruption. At that time a man from among my progeny will
rise and will fill the earth with justice and equity. He will rule for seven or nine

37.]  Abu Salama reported: I heard the Prophet, SAAS, saying, "The Mahdi will
appear from Itrati (my family or progeny), from the descendants of Fatima." Abu

38.]  Hudhaifa says that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, addressed us and
recounted things that will happen in the future. Then he said, "If there should not
remain from the world but a single day, Allah, the Exalted, will prolong that day until
He sends a man from my progeny, whose name is my name." Salman stood and
asked, "O Allah"s Messenger, which of your sons?" The Prophet, SAAS, said, "This
son of mine." So saying, he placed his hand on Al-Hussain.  Abu Dawud, Ibn

39.] Ka'b said, "The Mahdi will not be (from any tribe) other than (from) Quraish.

Sayyid Zainul Abidin of Hadramawt, Yemen, is the 14th generation grandson of


Hussain Ibn Ali. The Imam Al-Mahdi's lineage is traced back to Sayyid Zainul
Abidin. This is with regards to the Yemen of Arabia. If the hadith points out to the
"Yemen" of the End Times Caliphate, then his father is from the people of Yaman,
from Tubba or Mandarun.

40.]  Abdullah bin Mas'ud reported that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "The world will not
pass away before the Arabs are ruled by a man (Imam Al Mahdi) of my Ahlul Bayt
(family) who's name will be like mine." Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi

From Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudriy that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "The Hour will
not come until a man from among the Ahlul Bayt owns the earth. He will fill the
world with fairness and justice as it was filled with oppression and injustice before

42.]  Abu Hurairah said that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "If there should
not remain but a single day from the world, Allah will send a man therein whose
name is my name, his character is my character, and his patronym is Abu

Abdullah is the Muslim name of Az-Zuhri Ibn Al-Kulaiba, Sufyāni III.

43.]  Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Al-Aas said, "Three Princes will succeed each other (as
Caliphs). All of two lands will be conquered by them. All of them are righteous: Al-
Jabir (The Mawla), Al-Mufrij (Al-Qahtāni) and Dhu Usab (Al-Mansur). They will
remain 40 years. Then there will be no good after them."

45.]  From Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "At the beginning
of every century Allah will send to this Ummah (Nation) someone who will renew

goes out for Jihad in the Cause of Allah, or he is seen but is not recognized as the

54.] Artat bin Al-Mundhir said, "The Mahdi will send the first battalion he formed to
(fight) the Turks. He defeats them and takes what they have from spoils and
money. Then he marches to Syria (Baytul Maqdis/Constantinople) and conquers it.
Then he emancipates (frees) all the slaves he has and give their owners (other

55.]  Ali Ibn Abi Talib said: The Prophet, SAAS, said to me in a long will: "O Ali! The
most astonishing ones among the people in terms of certitude are those who will
come in the End Times. They have never seen the Prophet, SAAS, and the Imam

61.]  Abdullah Ibn Abbas said to Mujahid, "If I have not heard that you are like the
people of this House, I would never tell you this." Whereupon Mujahid said, "This
surely will be kept a secret. I will not mention it to someone you hate." So Abdullah
Ibn Abbas told him, "There are four people from the House, from us is As-Saffah,
and from us is Al-Mundhir, and from us is Al-Mansur, and from us is Al-Mahdi." So
Mujahid said, " Clarify these four for me." He answered, "As for As-Saffah (The
Butcher/Slaughterer) he may kill his supporters and forgive his enemy. Al-Mundhir
(The Warner) will give away plenty of wealth, he will be humble and keep but a little
of his rights. Al-Mansur (The Victorious) will be given victory over his enemy and
(be given by Allah) part of what was given the Messenger of Allah, and that is his
(the Prophet's) enemies were frightened away from him the travelling distance of
two months whereas the enemies of Al-Mansur will be frightened the travelling
distance of one month. Al-Mahdi (the Guided One) will fill the earth with justice,
just as it has been filled with transgression- livestocks and foxes will live together
peacefully and the earth will bring forth that which is hidden from its depth - they
look like cylinders of gold and silver." Al-Hākim's Mustadrak

62.]  Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud narrated that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "A group of people
will come from the East with Black Flags, and they will ask for some "khair" (share
of power and wealth) but they will not be given what they asked for. So they will
fight and win against the people. Now they will be given them what they asked for,
but will not accept it, until they hand it over to a person from the Ahlul Bayt (i.e. the
Imam Al-Mahdi) who will fill it (The Caliphate) with justice just as they filled it with
oppression. So whoever of you would be alive at that time should come to them
even by crawling over snow." Ibn Majah, Muhammad Al-Barzanji's Al-Isha'ah li

63.]  From Thawban that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "When you see the

64.]  "Pitipur Taliqan. At that place are treasures of Allah. These are not of gold and
silver, but consist of people who have recognized Allah as they should have (i.e.

65.] Abu Nadhrah said, "We were sitting in the company of Jabir bin Abdullah when
he said, "Soon the People of Iraq will neither receive any food (grains) nor any
money." We said, "Why would such a thing happen? He replied, "Because of the Al-
Ajam (Non-Arabs, the Iraq Economic Embargo). He then said, "Soon the people of
Ash-Shām will neither receive any money nor grain." We asked him as to why this
would happen. He replied, "Because of the Romans (during Malhama, Second
Economic Embargo)." Then he went silent for a while then said, "The Messenger of
Allah, SAAS, said, "There will be at the end of my nation a Caliph (Imam Al-Mahdi)
who grabs money with his hands (and gives it away) without counting it." Sahih

"The people of Iraq will be left with no weighing equipment and no money will be

66.]  'Awf bin Malik said, "I came to the Prophet, SAAS, during the campaign of
Tabuk when he was in a leather tent and he said, "Count six things prior to the
Hour: my death, the Conquest of Jerusalem, deaths which will spread among you
like the qu'ass (murrain) affect sheep..." Bukhari

"Then a disease that will spread among you that Allah cause you and your children
to be martyred by it (the disease)." Ibn Majah

67.]  Abu Umamah said that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "There would be
four hudnas (treaties) between you and the Romans. The fourth (truce) will be
mediated through a person who will be from the descendants of Aaron (Harun)
and will be upheld for seven years." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who
will be the Imam of the people of the time?" He said, "(Nua'im bin Hammad
mentions the Mahdi) He will be from my progeny and will be forty years of age. His
face will be a shining star and he will have a small black spot on his cheek. He will
wear two Qutwaniatan cloaks as if he is a man from the Israelites. He will reign for
twenty years, extract the treasures, and conquer the cities of shirk (polytheism)."

68.] It was related that Abdullah Ibn Amr said, "There will come a time when there
will be no believer left but he will go and live in Ash-Shām." Ibn Abi Shaybah

70.] The Hour will not be established till the Muslims fight with people (Banu
Qantura/Turks) whose faces look like the shields with coated leather. They will
wear uniforms made of hair and they will wear shoes made of hair." Sahih Muslim

Makhul said that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "The Turks (Banu Qantura)
will make two invasions: one of them will be in which they will devastate
Azerbaijan, and in the second one they will reach (make a landing) to the shore of
Euphrates (river, in Egypt)." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

Al-Walid bin Muslim said, "The Black Flags will remain victorious against those
who oppose them until the Turks enters (the Muslim lands) through the door of
Armenia." He added, 'The first sign of the signs of their demise is their dispute

71.]  Abdullah bin Mas'ud said that the Prophet, SAAS, said, "Between the Muslims
and the Romans there will be a hudna (treaty) and reconciliation treaty to the
extent that they will fight together an enemy for Romans (non-Muslim nation) and
they will split the war acquisition. Then, the Romans with the Muslims will invade
Persia (Land of Turks, the Land Beyond Constantinople)." Nua'im bin Hammad's

72.] From Hudhaifa that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "Then they (Dhul Urf
and his army) will go to Kufa and pillage it. When this occurs a banner will come
from the East led by a man from Tamim called Shua'ib Ibn Salih, who will obtain
the release of the people of Kufa (captured by the Sufyani's army) and (Shua'ib and
his men) will defeat them (Sufyāni's army)." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

73.]  Yunus bin Saif Al-Khulani said, "You will reconcile with the Romans  through a
reconciliation treaty. Then, together, you and the Romans will invade the (lands of)
Turks and Kirman and Allah will conquer them for you..." Nua'im bin Hammad's

74.]  Artat bin Al-Mundhir said, "The Sufyāni (General Dhul Urf, First Sufyāni) will
lead the Romans to fight the Turks. Their eradication (uprooting) will be at the
hands of The Mahdi. The first battalion formed by the Mahdi will be sent to fight

75.]  "The Yamani (Imam Al-Mahdi) and the Sufyāni (Dhul Urf) are like two racing

76.]  The Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "Even if but a single day remains in this
world, Allah will certainly prolong that day so that one from my family (Imam Al-
Mahdi) can take possession of Mount Daylam and the City of Constantinople." Al-

77.]  From Abdur-Rahman Ibn Abi Layla, he said Ali narrated that the Prophet,
SAAS, said, "He (Imam Al-Mahdi) will come from a village in Yaman called Kara'ah,
wearing my turban and my armor, and carrying my sword Dhul Fiqar, and a caller is
calling, "This is Al-Mahdi! Follow him! He is the Caliph of Allah." Kifayat Al-Athar,

78.] Abdullah bin Mas'ud said, "The Romans will say, 'Split with us the war booties
(spoils) like we did.' So the Muslims will split with the Romans the war booties and
children of polytheists. The Romans will say, 'Split with us of the (Turks) Muslim
children.' The Muslims will say, 'We cannot split with you the children of Muslims.'..
The Romans will invade and take over all of Ash-Shām (caliphate) except
Damascus and Ma'taq mountain near Homs (in Syria) where Muslims will keep
their children." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

79.]  Ali Ibn Abi Talib said about what the Sufyāni does in Makkah: "He (Dhul Urf,
Sufyāni I) kills (by hanging) two siblings from Bani Hashim of Quraish, a man and
his sister, they are called Muhammad and Fatima. He (then) crucifies them at the
gate of the masjid." Nua'im bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitān

80.] Ibrahim bin Salih bin Dirham said, "We went out for hajj and we saw a man
who said to us, "Is there a village beside you called Al-Ubullah?" We said, "Yes." He
said, "Who among you will promise to pray two or four rak'ahs on my behalf, in the
masjid of Al Ash-Shâr and say, 'This is on behalf of Abu Hurairah?'" I heard my
close friend Abul Qasim, SAAS, say, "On the Day of Resurrection Allah will raise
martyrs from the masjid of Al Ash-Shâr and no one but they will stand with the
martyrs of Badr." Abu Dawud

Aban bin Al-Walid Al-Mu'ti heard Ibn Abbas talking with Muawiya and asked him
about the End of Time, so he told him, "A man (Caliph Harith) from them (Banu
Hashim) at the End of Time will rule for forty (40) years (i.e. the length of time
Caliph Harith fights and rules as a Caliph). The Battles [Al-Malahim (against  the
Romans)] will be in the last remaining seven (7) years of his (Caliph Harith's) reign.
He dies in the Aamaq (the second wave 12,000 Army of Caliph Harith) then a man
(Imam Al-Mahdi, Khalifatullah) with two small marks [on his face (i.e. a small dip
an inch above and in between his two eyebrows and a small scarmark on the
bridge of his acquiline nose)] will succeed him (Caliph Harith). He (Imam Al-Mahdi)
is the one who will conquer (Baytul Maqdis/Constantinople)." Nua'im bin

82.]  Narrated by Abu Hurairah, "And all the (kuffar) nations come to fight by sea
and air except those in the land of extreme cold and in the land of extreme heat.
And the Mahdi sees that all the world does plot against him, but he also sees that
Allah's plan is stronger than all, and he sees that the world belongs to Allah and to
Him it will return, and that the world is but a tree that Allah wills him to rule from its
roots to its branches...And Allah throws down on them (unbelievers) with a
disastrous punishment, burning their lands, seas and skies. And the sky rains
down a harmful shower, with the people of the earth cursing the infidels, and Allah

83.]  Abdullah Ibn Abbas said to Mujahid, "If I have not heard that you are like the
people of this House, I would never tell you this." Whereupon Mujahid said, "This
surely will be kept a secret. I will not mention it to someone you hate." So Abdullah
Ibn Abbas told him, "There are four people from the House, from us is As-Saffah,
and from us is Al-Mundhir, and from us is Al-Mansur, and from us is Al-Mahdi." So
Mujahid said, " Clarify these four for me." He answered, "As for As-Saffah (The
Butcher/Slaughterer) he may kill his supporters and forgive his enemy. Al-Mundhir
(The Warner) will give away plenty of wealth, he will be humble and keep but a little
of his rights. Al-Mansur (The Victorious) will be given victory over his enemy and
(be given by Allah) part of what was given the Messenger of Allah, and that is his
(the Prophet's) enemies were frightened away from him the travelling distance of
two months whereas the enemies of Al-Mansur will be frightened the travelling
distance of one month. Al-Mahdi (the Guided One) will fill the earth with justice,
just as it has been filled with transgression- livestocks and foxes will live together

84.]  Abu Hurairah says that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "(Armies carrying)
Black Flags will come from Khurasan (East). No power will be able to stop them
and they will finally reach Ilya (Jerusalem) where they will erect their flags."

85.]  At the end of time there will be a trial in which people will be sorted in a
similar way to that in which gold is sorted from metal. Therefore do not rebuke the
people of Syria. Rather rebuke the evil people among them because amongst them
are the Abdāls. Allah will send a flood from Heaven that will disperse their groups
in such a way that if foxes were to attack them they (Muslims) would be victorious.
Then Allah will send a man from the pure-musked children of the Messenger
amongst approximately 12,000-15,000 under three banners and their password
(warcry) is, Die! Die! ("Kill! Kill! Kill!") and they will be fought by the seven banners
under each is a man seeking the kingdom. They will be killed, defeated, then the
Hashimite will appear, so Allah will restore unity and favors to the people and this
will be the case until the Dajjal comes." Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and At-

86.]  From Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudriy that the Messenger of Allah, SAAS, said, "The
earth will be filled with injustice and corruption, at that time a man from my
progeny will rise and will fill the world with justice and equity. He will rule for seven

87.] "At the time when the world will be in Harj-u-Marj, fitnah will appear, people will
be attacked, the old will not have mercy on the young, and the young will not show
respect to the old. Allah will send someone to eradicate hostility and conquer the
castles of perversion, uphold faith in the End Times just as I upheld it formerly,
someone who will fill the earth with justice where violence prevailed before." Al-

The Imam Al-Mahdi's justice is that he will take revenge on the Romans and Turks
for the brutal deaths of millions of his people by their hands. He will kill them all in
retaliation and this is foremost in his establishing justice on the Earth (Caliphate).

(Romans) to the extent that the Muslims will build a mosque in it (Constantinople)
and invade (together with the Romans) an enemy located behind Constantinople
and then you will return to Constantinople. In the third (confrontation) Allah will
open it for you when you (Muslims) say Takbir (Allahu Akbar). One third of it
(Constantinople) will be destroyed (by war). Allah will burn one-third of it. You will
divide among you the wealth found in the remaining third." Nua'im bin Hammad's
