Resolution to handle “Call to SSPI Failed” exception

Background:

Member faces the error “Call to SSPI failed” on connecting file uploader due to an issue with the incomplete
buildup of the certificate chain.

This generally occurs when the existing certificates (belonging to some other application) in the user’s
machine creates a conflict with the installation of new SSL certificates used by NOW File Uploader.

The conflict causes the certificate path of SRVR_CERT_FILE.cer file (available in the Now_File_uploader
– Files - now_ssl folder) to not build up the way it is represented in the below image.

This issue can be corrected by the resolution provided in the subsequent page.

1. Click on the Start menu and click Run.

2. Type in mmc and click OK.

3. Click on the File menu and click Add/Remove Snap-in...

4. Click on Certificates from the left panel and then click the Add button. Click on OK.

5. The below window will invoke. Click on Computer Account and click Next.

6. Leave Local Computer selected and click on the Finish button.

7. The above window will close. Then click OK on the Add or Remove Snap ins window.

8. The above window will close. Then click the plus sign next to Certificates in the left pane.

9. Click the plus sign next to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder and click on the
Certificates folder.

10. Find the COMODO RSA Certification Authority certificate (not properly represented in the
certificate chain of SRVR_CERT_FILE.cer in the user’s machine) and delete the same from the
list displayed on the right panel.

11. Try login again to NOW File Uploader after following the above steps.
