 Modelling: Scientific modelling is a scientific activity, the aim of which

is to make a particular part or feature of the world easier to understand,
define, quantify, visualize, or simulate by referencing it to existing and
usually commonly accepted knowledge
 Modeling and simulation (M&S) is getting information about how
something will behave without actually testing it in real life.
 A schematic description or representation of something, especially a syste
m or phenomenon, that accounts for its properties and is
used to study its characteristics:

 Define Model ( Building) [ No. stories etc]

 Define Material ( Concrete or steel) [ Elastic Modulus, M.O.I etc]

 Define Section properties ( Frame section: Beam, column) [Area section: slab]

 Assign above properties to model

 Assign joints ( roller, hinge or fix)

 Assign load ( Point, UDL, UVL)

 Define Load pattern ( Dead, live, EQ or Wind)

 Define Load Combination (1.2D.L + 1.6L.L)

 Define Load cases ( Static, dynamic EQ etc)

 SAP2000 (Structural Analysis Program)

 Folder Name SAP2000v14 Open window display

 Double click on SAP2000v14: Install will start.

 After finishing the installation follow: instruction in Read_me file

 After installation, copy Patch.exe into file SAP2000 14, and run it

 SAP2000v14 Paste patch.exe file there and run it
