Additional plate (min E350 Gr.) with bolt holes matching that of the top plate of bearing is welded to the bottom
flange of the cross beam. The width of this machined additional plate (out of mageba’s scope) to be greater than the
width of the flange. The top plate of the bearing shall be bolted to this additional plate.

Installation Methodology
Bearings are thus fitted to the top welded plates at all locations. Care should be taken to
ensure that full contact between additional plate and the top plate of bearing is established.

Installation Methodology
The bearings are brought to position and lowered such that the upper bearings are resting on the steel
brackets that are connected to the towers. Another, machined packing plate (min 350 Gr.) shall be pre-
fixed to the bottom bearing plate through bolting.
mageba | 16.12.2019| page 8
Installation Methodology
A prefixed packing plate provided at the bottom of the bearing shall be welded
to bracket at all locations

Additional plate
below bottom flange
gap
The loosely fitted bolts at the top of the bottom bearings allow for a gap to be formed between the pre
fitted (welded) additional plate below the flange and the top plate of the bearing
mageba | 16.12.2019| page 11
Installation Methodology
The gap is filled with epoxy grout such as CONBEXTRA EP75 and after the grout
attains full strength, the bolts are tightened
