Professional Disposition Statement

As a future educator I will conduct myself in a positive and professional manner. I will

enthusiastically demonstrate a positive attitude while motivating students to explore the world of

learning. I will effectively demonstrate my respect for the ideas and contributions of others in my

communication both orally and in writing. I will be a motivated leader that collaborates

effectively with my student’s family, peers and colleagues. I will exhibit my appreciation and

respect for diversity within my classroom and community. I will recognize the whole child in all

of my students. It is my belief that every child has the ability to learn. It is my commitment to

reflect, exhibit and demonstrate instructional strategies that enable all learners with opportunities

to content and application. It is my commitment to provide an equitable learning opportunity to

all learners while using variety of resources to facilitate the student’s learning.

Reflection

This reflection will address many key points regarding my professional disposition statement and

assessment. How my assessment supports my professional disposition statement will be reflected

on. Along with how the dispositions have grown over the course of study will be addressed.

Lastly what steps will be taken to improve where it may be needed.

It is important to address that the professional disposition is a statement that reflects a person’s

outlook, attitude and beliefs. It should reflect the state of mind of what that person thinks will

help their students learn. The statement above is a reflection of my integrity and how I will

perform my undertaking as an educator.

In reflecting on my professional disposition statement it was important to address my philosophy

as a future educator. The professional disposition statement is a reflection of my commitment to


my performance, professionalism and partnership to the school, my colleagues and community in

order to facilitate learning to my students.

The assessment supported my professional disposition statement. I strongly agreed with many of

the dispositions I hold true to. In areas in which I agreed it is still supported my disposition

statement. It is a true reflection of my dedication and willingness to uphold the demands of this

profession while being motivated and eager help my students succeed in their learning journey.

In regards to how I have grown within my professional disposition throughout this course of

study I believe that my growth is ongoing. The learning process never ends. I have and in the

process still of learning from some wonderful mentors along the way. I am still learning daily

from my cooperative teacher. I have learned over the course that the learning never stops.

Sharing ideas, obtaining new resources and professional development is a constant. I have

learned from my students over the course of study from my practicum placements to now of

success and that there are no mistakes or fails but teachable moments to embrace. Each student is

different from how they learn to interacting and engaging with others. It is important to be

willing to learn and grow while teaching.

The steps I will take to constantly improve and cultivate a learning environment that reflects my

personal disposition and assessment is through using a variety of resources that facilitate learning

and improvement. I will provide myself with opportunities to attend professional developments

and collaborate with colleagues and the community. I will take the step to actively reflect daily a

courteous, positive and professional attitude that reflects my belief that every student deserves an

equitable education and has the ability to learn.
