Introduction

■ Who am I?
■ What are my Targets?
– Creating a short film with focus on Cinematography
– Immersive and captivating story
– Researching new ideas
– Demonstrating knowledge
■ This presentation will highlight how I aim to achieve this
Planning

■ I have 9 weeks to complete this project

■ I needed to generate a Week-By-Week plan to pace my work
– This is outlined in the handout
■ Separating the work into individual tasks will make it easier to complete
■ I will keep a production diary to track my progress
The idea

■ Home invasion sequence

■ Protagonist is a delivery cyclist (”fish out of water”)
■ No/Minimal dialogue
■ Cat and mouse sequence, develops into fight sequence
■ Blood and violence
■ Our protagonist escapes
Movies which Inspire me
Production

■ I aim to place emphasis on Cinematography and sound design

■ Employing creative techniques such as Snorricam and Gorrilapod mount camera
angles
■ Camera should feel like a character
■ Goal is to create audience Immersion
What do I need- Equipment?
Who do I need- People?

■ I will act as the Director, Camera operator, and Leading role on the film
■ The Initial Idea demands 4 Cast
– Protagonist
– Dead body
– Home invader 1 and 2
■ I will also need at least 2 Crew
– Camera
– Audio
■ I will fill these roles with Friends and Family
■ They need to be able to show up Late/Early for nighttime filming
What do I need – On film

■ Plenty of fake blood

■ Spray bottle
■ Weapons!
– Prop bat
– Prop knife
■ Wardrobe
– Masks
– Black clothing
– Helmet
■ Protective pads (for stunts)
■ Bike
Where do I need?

■ I have Identified 3 required locations for filming

– The starting off point; where we meet our protagonist
– The pickup point; where the protagonist secures the package
– House; where the majority of the action takes place
■ The House needs enough space to film and choreograph a fight sequence
■ I knew that logistically, my house would be the ideal location
What do I want to achieve?

■ Learning new Cinematography skills

■ Learning new Audio recording techniques
■ Learning new editing techniques
■ Work with low light
■ Direct cast and crew to a high standard
