FMP: BADBURY

FOUND FOOTAGE HORROR FILM.

For my final major project I have chosen to do a found
footage horror film called Badbury that is set and shot
at the British historical site known as Badbury rings.
I have chosen this as I love horror films and the
location has a lot of potential with alot of history and a
rich backstory behind the location.
Im going to achieve this by shooting on site over the
course of a weekend with a few very late night shoots
to give my film the right aesthetic setting.
PLAN.
To record my progress im going to use a production diary and will also us this to plan scenes
and dialog choices I may come up with over the course of the shoot and whilst filming on site.

To evaluate my skills and how I have progressed im going to compare the techniques I used
for both my films and judge myself on things like dialog, location choice, wardrobe choices
and casting decisions.
RESEARCH
To research my choice for my final major project I have a lot of
resouces avalible to me such as:
• Local history:
The location I have chose is very rich in history and has a lot of
local folklore surrounding it.
• I can use my local library and the college library to study the
history behind the location and target certain details that can
be used as a valid source.
• I can also ask and interview locals that live close to the
location aswell as asking to talk to a local historian that can
advise me and teach me some of the history that is not written
in books.
REQUIRED
EQUIPMENT.
The equipment im going to need for my final major
project film will mainly consist of a few cameras
that are capable of capturing night footage with
correct lighting equipment.
Im also going to need a boom mic and some
spotlights aswell as a barn door attachment to give
my desired impression and a tripod for the camera to
stand on, a shoulder mount would also work well for
some of the point of view scenes.
Coloured film filters could also be used to make
some scenes darker and some scenes a creepy and
eerie domina.
SKILLS TO
DEVELOP.
For this final major project the skills im going to
have to improve upon are:
• My Shooting style / technique for example the
point of view shots.
• Location choices and decsions, these include
choosing a location with adequate natural
lighting and not a lot of light and noise
pollution.
• Script and dialog choices are something I could
improve upon by giving my cast a more
believable script that’s period specific.
• Use of cuts, these include but are not exclusive
to jump cuts and clean scene transitions.
MY TARGET AUDIENCE.
My target audience for this film will be anyone over the age of 18
and fans of a horror film based on a true story, as I plan to have
some mature content its not recommended for anyone under the age
of 18, details of this includes:
• Language some people may find offensive
• Blood and gore
• Jump scares and a general un easy feeling
• Audio and visual manipulation

My planned demographic for this film is a younger to mid aged

audience.
