Title of production
The collector / Short film

Concept/ This short film will be a horror called “The Collector”. The storyline
will be about a man exploring a haunted woodland area all while being
hunted by a vicious mass murderer. He finds different clues as he explores
and finds some horrific things.

Why are you producing this production? / I decided to create a horror for my
short film as I have always had an interest in them. I feel like my target
audience would like being on edge as they watched as it’s a bit different to
their stereotypical interest. I knew I would be able to produce the production
and I already had an idea ready at the start.

Deadline/Planning= 4th December 2020

Production= 12th January 2021
Pitch= 18th January 2021

Target audience is 40-60-Year-Old

What they want to see/ What an audience wants to see from a horror film is
scary settings and scary characters. Having a scary setting like a haunted
house or an abandoned forest sets the scene and mood well and makes the
audience intrigued. Having a scary character is crucial as well as there will
be no exciting incident if there is just good characters in the film. My
character will wear a black cape and a scary mask to portray him as “Evil”.

What you are creating based from that research/ Based off my target
audience research I have learnt about viewing habits and different interests
for my target audience. I have learnt that drama and horror is surprisingly
popular for my target audience. Obviously, it is not the most but it is up there.
 Proposal
Tv thrillers such as the night manager and Riviera were some of the most
viewed thrillers on BBC in 2019. These programmes leave the audience on
edge and that is the main object of mine. The most popular watched
horror on Netflix in 2019 was insidious which is a horror about a possessed
family.

In my codes and conventions research I learned that camera angles are very
important to show who has control of a situation and who wins the scene.
When the camera angle is a low angle shot looking up it shows the person in
frame as superior. This is a potential shot in my production to show the evil
about to eliminate the hero.
