TEACH ON: Keeping the Passion Alive

There are several enablers that fuels my passion in teaching. The enablers that
ignites my passion for teaching are; relationship, achievement, having hopes and goals,
reflection and opportunity. As for relationship, I treat my pupils as my family, this enables
me to do extra effort to be able to address their needs. I feel happy seeing them enjoying
learning which motivated me to improve myself and become more capable of doing things
to make a difference. I feel the sense of fulfilment as my teaching become evident in the
behaviour of my pupils, for me this is my achievement which challenge me to become a
better teacher. I have hopes and goals for my pupils to develop confidence and believe in
themselves which will lead them to be successful in life. I want them to become responsible
individuals who cares for the things around them. My pupils’ success is my success. My
profession as a teacher serves as an opportunity for me to be an instrument of God in
helping pupils to reach their full potential and be successful in life, which makes me feel
worthy and give me a peace of mind as I help in educating learners and serving our God. My
aim to become a better teacher makes me reflect on my daily teachings which makes me
understand my learners needs and abilities and give ideas on how to improve my teachings.
Reflecting on our experiences enable us to become a skilled teacher because our ability to
reflect on what, why, how we do things and adopt and develop our excellence in teaching.
All of these enablers energies my passion in teaching that motivates me to participate in
different trainings and seminars and ask for help of my colleagues that will allow me to
improve my teaching skills. These enablers reminds me about the importance of my
profession and also helps me to love teaching and learning despite of the different
challenges, hardships and difficulties that we are facing right now. Every time that I almost
give up, these enablers ignites my passion in teaching. My passion for teaching indulge me
in continuing professional growth, keeping up to date and becoming innovative, and
understanding learners abilities and needs.
These enablers will develop a future me who wants to be remembered by my pupils
as the teacher who treat them as their own family, who helped them through their lessons,
who makes them love learning and who developed their potentials and shaped their
character in order to reach their goals. I want to be remembered as part of their success. I
will be a teacher passionate with my calling in which will continually improve my craft as I go
along. I will love my calling with passion. I am a teacher who always remember the things
that fuels my passion for teaching despites of lots of struggles and difficulties. Loving our
calling, gives meaning of our life. I will engage myself in deliberate practice so that overtime
I can improve my skills. A motivated teacher that is very willing to participate in different
seminars and trainings that will allow me to improve my skills as teacher. A teacher
triggered by her passion that stimulates her to gain more knowledge, skills, and wisdom that
will enable her to transform, change and create individuals successful in life.
All of won’t be possible of attainable without actions that will lead me to a
passionate teacher I want me to be. It is very important for me have a daily reflection to my
actions or experiences as a teacher. I believe that reflecting in our experiences is the key to
become a skilled teacher. I should reflect on what, why, how I do things for my pupils which
will help me to know how am I going to improve myself and allow me to know whether I am
still on the right track in achieving my goals. Another important thing is to deepen my
understanding in my learners needs and abilities which I may gain through readings and
attending seminars and trainings in which will also leads to my professional growth, so that I
will know how to deal with them which will enable me to achieved my goal for them. I also
have to keep up to date and innovative through the changes in time. Being serious about
educating a new generation, it is important that we learn to breakdown our out-to-date
views about learning and replace them with the new images of how we should educate our
pupils and the knowledge and skills we are aiming for them. And the last but most
important thing is to ask blessing of wisdom and continuous guidance from our God to help
us achieved legacy that we want to be remembered by our pupils.
