 2013 Voice of the Youth Network merged with DZIQ 990 AM to
power up a youth – oriented program entitled Voice of The Youth Radio.

Every week, the program featured inspiring young people:

victorious achievers, volunteers, and visionaries.

Authors, artists, youth leaders, subject matter experts, and

motivators – we got them all.

Topics were the actions and involvement of young people in helping

out their communities: from clean - up drives, youth expositions,
information and advocacy campaigns, debates, book donations to review
sessions – we’ve done it all.

Truly a milestone! Our special series on the Millennium

Development Goals entitled “Youth Voices on Air: Walking the talk on the
MDGs” was featured as one of the most innovative MDG campaign of the
youth sector in the United Nations Summit held in New York City, USA in
2005.

Now in our tenth year in radio… after hundreds of guests, volumes

of topics, over 200 hours of airtime, and thousands inspired…

We refuse to shut up.

In fact, we are getting louder and our passion burns brighter than
ever…

“Huntahan” is a comical – parody on timely political and social issues,
featuring the voice-alikes of prominent personalities like Mike Enriquez,
Mark Logan, former-President Joseph Estrada, Pres. Gloria Arroyo and
many others. It’s comedy with sense; it is both fiction and reality. The
segment is definitely something new in radio broadcast.

 VOICE OF THE YOUTH NETWORK is all about empowering the Filipino youth. By sharing
information and by involving others in different youth activities, they are inspired that other
organizations are doing a lot in their respective communities. Because they are inspired, they are
willing to duplicate, innovate or do something different that would have an impact to their
communities. A Youth Informed and Involved, is a Youth in POWER.

One of our goals is to champion the development and dissemination of lively, youth-
created media on topical local and national issues. It is critical that young people not only
participate passively, but be active participants in making their own media – fostering media
literacy, a sense of ownership, a platform for personal expression, and a medium through which
to learn about and critically engage with important issues. Through Voice of The Youth Network,
we will partner with and support local youth media groups to promote special reporting projects
(which may take place on a worldwide scale), the promotion of online publishing, and
collaboration around a global youth media wire service. Working together, youth media groups
can gain a broader audience, practice new types of reporting, and have greater impact on their
communities.

We also aim to encourage the meaningful participation of young people in national,

provincial or municipal decision-making processes. Young people are key stakeholders in the
development of broad social policies (including the environment and cultural-diversity) to those in
which they routinely have a personal interest (most commonly, education and employment).
While VOTY already has significant programs engaging young people in global decision-making
processes, it is at the national level where young people can most effectively see the impact of
their input. Through Voice of The Youth Radio, we will create creative spaces where young
people can learn about and discuss challenges, and brainstorm on appropriate channels to
influence policy-making.
