Standard #2: Learning Differences

Artifact: Observation #1 Field Experience

Date of Completion: Fall 2019

Course Completed in: EDUC 230-02 Education Field Experience

Standard 2 learning differences, shows that the teacher uses understanding of individual

differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that

enables each learner to meet high standards. I am placing my field experience setting observation

under standard 2 of learning differences because the teacher accesses resources, supports, and

specialized assistance and services to meet particular learning differences or needs and

participates in the design and implementation of the IEP. In the analysis portion of my

observation I talk about the different ways that the students with IEP play a role in the class and

what they are included in and what they are pulled out of class for and how that affects them.

The teacher also shows that she understand the students with disabilities and knows how to use

strategies and resources to address their needs. There is one student in the class who has Tourette

syndrome but is very bright and he has many opportunities to show how brilliant he is.
