Standard 6 assessment, shows that the teacher understands and uses multiple methods of

assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the

teacher’s and learner’s decision making. I am placing my lesson plan under standard 6 of

assessment because it demonstrates that it engages learners in understanding and identifying

quality work and provides them with effective descriptive feedback to guide their progress

toward that work. In my lesson plan I give students the opportunity to practice and ask questions

while learning the new material. Since the lesson is a hands on lesson I am able to correct and

provide feedback to the student so that they are prepared when they have to demonstrate what

they learned. This works well because the teacher asses the students without the students

knowing they’re being assessed.
