It is a privilege that I belonged to this society as alumni and can recommend for potential
candidates. I am DeBoer Fellow 2014 alumni and I would like to write a recommendation for my
colleague Aung Phyoe Kyaw who is applying for 2020 DeBoer Fellow. I have known him since 2017 and
have worked with him for almost a year. Throughout this journey he has proven knowledge which will
be building blocks for polishing the Leadership skills. As a civil society representative in Bago region and
at the national level, he established great job for Myanmar’s Natural Resource Governance.

Having worked with local governance initiatives, he is open to learning and initiatives which is
importantly essential for Leadership. I believe the fellowship can advance his skills and competencies via
technical inputs, peer learning and via life-long learning process. The fellowship can facilitate his
leadership qualities in place and he can have an opportunity to well equip with the existing knowledge
and value-added from the fellowship. He can apply these credits and knowledge in advancing
Myanmar’s development as a piece.

The fellowship is competitive and I believe there will be numbers of candidates. I would like to
recommend you that he is a potential candidate to support for the country by sharing and learning from
this program.
