ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


ROOM ATTENDANT PROMOTES A POSITIVE IMAGE OF THE PROPERTY TO GUESTS AND MUST BE
PLEASANT, HONEST, FRIENDLY AND SHOULD ALSO ABLE TO ADDRESS GUEST REQUESTS AND
PROBLEMS.

1. Complete all Merlin classes & training


2. Must be able to lift 20lbs on a consistent basis.
3. Have flexible hours (Hours depend on needs of the hotel.)
4. Must work well with others.
5. Enter & prepare room for cleaning according to IHG standards.
6. Dust rooms and furniture
7. Replenish guestroom and bathroom supplies.
8. Cleans guest bathroom/bedroom/floor corridor according to IHG standards.
9. Complete housekeeping boards in a timely standard (30 minutes per room)
10. Ensure closet have all supplies needed & ensure safes are working properly
11. Ensure all floors are cleaned per standards.
12. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy
and whatever time of day.
13. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
14. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to
guest inquiries accurately.
15. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
(This includes your carts & work areas.)
16. Remove all dirty terry and replace with the clean par to the designated layout.

17. Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet,
shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor.

18. Replace facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location.
19. Remove dirty bed linen and make up bed with clean linen
20. Clean closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure
correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow and luggage rack.

21. Dust and polish all furniture.

22. Realign furniture to the floor plan.

23. Responsible for following the IHG standard operating procedures.

24. Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.

25. Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet.

26. Return and restock cart at end of shift.
