Chandivali Farm Road, Powai, Mumbai 400 072

December , 2019

Kind attn.: Mr Manish Walunj

Deputy Municipal Commissioner
Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC)
L Ward, Kurla
Mumbai

Respected Sir,

We are very grieved by the treatment your organisation, i.e BMC has given us, and hope that you
would take notice and respond to these issues that we have often brought to your attention.

• Residents of Raheja Vihar, Chandivali, Powai face life threatening situations and other
hazards due to the narrow approach/ entry road to the Raheja Vihar Complex.

We seek your attention and response, which would help to save lives and reduce the dangers that
have now increased due to the narrow entry road into Raheja Vihar Complex.

Problems due to the narrow entry road into Raheja Vihar Powai, are:
• Emergency services such as the fire brigade and ambulances are not able to reach us on
time due to the narrow entry road. The detiorating condition of this road further creates delays
and risks.

1. Senior citizens have no space to walk as there is no footpath or a “walk zone”.

2. Raheja Vihar residents had created a walking space, which you have taken out without an
alternative walk area inside Raheja Vihar complex.
3. Lack of a walking zone has brought about incidents where the walkers are often hit by cars and
bikes.
4. Women have been molested while walking in the traffic areas. There have been several
complaints filed, and concerns raised with the police
5. Residents are not able to have any morning or evening walks, due to the lack of the walking
zone ( taken out by BMC)
6. Kids are exposed to such traffic as there is a school in our complex
7. Illegal parking of autorickshaws, taxis, bikes, tempos and school buses in the residential complex
is a danger.
8. There are abandoned vehicles at our complex, left since years. These abandoned vehicles are
a breeding ground for malaria and other viral diseases.

Residents of Raheja Vihar request a meeting with you, so that we understand how to solve these
long existing problems and work out ways to maintain parking discipline and provide improved living
conditions at Raheja Vihar.

Hoping for your early response, yours truly,

On behalf of Raheja Vihar Residents,

Mr.Sandesh Hegde Mr.Thomas Abraham Mr.Rajaram Desai Mr.Manikandan
