Mohon is one of the barangay in Talisay, it was led by the barangay captain Mr. Vicente M. Bas.
Mohon has many Sitio/Purok led by the purok leaders. Mohon is a nice community to live in, but
many members raised the same concern to the barangay captain: the dirty and awful smell of
garbage. It’s alarming especially to the health of every member of the community even the
Barangay Hall worker can’t even endure the smell.

Improper garbage disposal is always an issue in our barangay due to the lack of coordination
among people who lives in the vicinity. The Talisay City Hall already did an action, yet the issue
hasnot been fixed since then. Since there are a lot of people living in the vicinity of Mohon they
usually took their trash in the evening and put it in the side of the expected to be pick by the
garbage truck but usually the garbage truck will pick up the garbage very late, since Mohon has a
big neighborhood, the trash is being dumped to one place and that causes bad smelly air.
Improper garbage disposal is too risky for the people who lived in Mohon. Upon saying the
barangay Mohon implemented a clean-up drive, the people keep throwing their garbage on the
roadside.

As a group of youth living in Mohon, we pledge ourselves to help fix the said issue for the
betterment of our community. The student of Talisay City College who lived in Mohon makes an
organization that aims to reduce the impact of garbage dumping on the roadside. We aim to
make action for the issue with the help of our fellow Mohonanons.

Our main agenda in making this project is to reduce the impact of garbage dumping with the help
of our fellow youth and members of our community. Our target along with our main agenda is to
create a big trash bin where they can dump their garbage so that the garbage will not be scattered
on the road or even on the roadside where people walk too. It will not just be us who can benefit
from this project but also, help to save our nature and help the local garbage man to make their
job easy.

The activities are aligned with our proposed plan. Social Media is the most updated platform and

can be used for information spreading. Our activity is posting a campaign on our Facebook page

named “Angat Mohon” where we post our activities such as the community seminar for the

purok leader, the session of our seminar focuses more on information spreading about the Big

Trash Bin Project on how to make the project work, giving them information about the risk of

garbage dumping and where to place the Big Trash Bin. The second activity is to do on-campus

information spreading to the student. Our last activity is to coordinate with Barangay Official for

approval and work with them to achieve our community goal.

5|Page: Person Involved

The person who is involved in this project is the Barangay Official, Barangay Staff, and Member

of Angat Mohon Organization, and of course, we need to coordinate with the people who live in

the vicinity. Upon saying we must also coordinate with the existing MYO or The Mohon Youth

Organization for we need the help of our people to achieve this goal.
6|Page: Time Frame

Our Time span for this project is 2 years. We aim to finish our project in 9 months. Why we

decided to do it as soon as possible because we want the people of Mohon to benefit from it and

stop the improper dumping as soon as possible. Even though it was rushed but we need to make

sure that the quality of our project is durable and can hold a lot of capacity so that it can support

a huge capacity of garbage.

7|Page: Resources Needed

Our budget for this project is 50,000 so our resources are from the Talisay Government, asking

for solicitation for the project, Fundraising, and Sponsorship from the Private sector. Since our

budget is 50,000, we need to look for a resources allocator where we can make a durable Trash

Bin that can fit into our budget

8|Page: Expected Output

Our expected Output is to have a clean roadside after this we can have an amazing community

where garbage is not the cause of our health problems. The roadside will not smell awful

anymore, and sewerage will not be stuck up because of the garbage. Upon saying this project can

benefit everyone especially the Mohonanons and Barangay Officials because after many years of

fixing this issue now finally rest assured that Mohon will be a better community to live in where

cleanliness is our number 1 priority.
