Executive Summary

Introduction
Throughout the community, a lot of garbage is thrown away every day. Some of
this waste clogs the canal's waterways if not properly thrown. When the rainy
season comes the rain will result in flooding, because the waterways are clogged
with garbage. The community is not only affected during the rainy season, it is
also affected during the dry season. Some of the garbage is flammable, this is the
reason why many houses catch fire. When we do not dispose of waste properly, it
results in disasters. If we conduct a reducing and recycling program in our
community, we can avoid clogging of drains and houses on fire. This document
propose a project to lessen and make use of the waste that can help the
community.

Project Justification
Human society sustains itself by transforming nature into garbage,” said aphorist
and Professor Mason Cooley.
Unsurprisingly, the Philippines generates more solid waste as population increases,
living standards are enhanced, and urban and rural areas are being developed.
According to a report by the Senate Economic Planning Office (SEPO), the country’s
waste generation steadily increased from 37,427.46 tons per day in 2012 to
40,087.45 tons in 2016.

Meanwhile, solid wastes produced by Philippine cities are expected to increase by

165 percent to 77,776 tons by 2025.
Residential areas produce the most amount of solid wastes at 57 percent, while
wastes from commercial establishments, institutional sources, and industrial or
manufacturing sector accounted for 27 percent, 12 percent, and 4 percent of the
total waste generated, respectively.

Problem Statement
In our present, it is still difficult to discipline some of the citizens, they still
continue to throw garbage in any place. Waste materials are constantly increasing
destroying the environment and cause death of some wildlife animals. Due to the
pandemic that occurred, many items were burned that affect our world's ozone
layer. After the pandemic, others forgot to reduce waste and recycle. Also this
generation doesn’t know the value of reducing, reusing and recycling of materials
like bottle, paper and etc. So we conduct a research with 15 residents age of 18
and above of our city. We ask them if they want to keep recycling on this
generation all of them said yes, because all of them always use a materials that
can be recycled every day. They think those things that are not disposed properly
is a biggest waste for our community.

II. Proposed Approach

We are proposing our project called Be Creative Again Pinoy (BCAP) to bring back
the heart of a creative Filipino in this generation by reusing and recycling of waste
materials.

III. Project Aim and Objectives

We propose this project to conserve our community and make it clean and safe
for everyone. And make the young generation be creative. In this document, we
will achieve our following goals:
1. Explain what is our project purpose
2. Explain how we will conduct this project
3. Show what will be the result of this project
4. Discuss how we will keep this project continuously
Project Implementation
Our project called BCAP (Be Creative Again Pinoy) is a program to make our young
generation be creative in waste materials. In this program we will inform our
young generations the use of waste materials and teach them how to make it
useful by crafting with their creative mind.

We will conduct this project with the help of barangays and schools. First we will
propose our project to schools and barangay and ask for a month to teach the
youth every Friday. If we conduct this project our place could be in a court or a
classroom. The first Friday of the month we will let them know the purpose and
2
what we will do in the next three Fridays. Second Friday we will teach them what
are the materials that can be reuse and recycled, and also why it is important to
our community. Third Friday of we will teach them how we will make a recycled
craft items by making use of their creative mind and make them bring waste
materials on the last Friday. And the last Friday we will give them enough time to
do what they have learned and after they make their recycled crafted items we
will give them a reward of being a creative young generation, and tell them to
never stop being creative passed it to the next generation.

Material we of use that can be recycled:

 Paper(Book, Newspaper, Magazine, Greeting card)
 Glass (Glass bottle, Jar)
 Aluminum (Aerosol, Can, Foil)
 Plastic (Carrier bag, Bottle, Yoghurt pot)
 Textiles (Clothes, Shoes)
 Electrical (Battery, Mobile phone, Computer)
When the project become successful their crafted items can be donated or sell it
is up to the youth what they want to do their crafted item. Some of their craft
items can be a vase for plants, can be a chair and also can be art piece. To
continue this project we will keep our project program fun and learning. Fun
learning will keep us in touch with the young generation.

IV. Evaluation
Our project program will cost a lot of efforts and time to conduct this successfully.
The efforts and time given by the members or volunteers will not be wasted,
because the project program we will be fruitful not only in our present day also in
our future. We will see the rising creative youths in this generation that will be
passed in the future generation.
