VIII. Beneficiaries
The primary beneficiaries of our project are the selected students from grades one
to three of Tambo Elementary School in MP Casanova St. Tambo Lipa City. We will
select the 100 poorest students in the community. To be fair with others, only one student
per household can participate. They will benefit because they will not have to spend a lot
of money on their school supplies. This project will provide school supplies for them.
The Barangay Tambo is the second beneficiary. They will benefit since this
initiative will aid in the elimination of garbage and maintain cleanliness in their
community. Furthermore, the barangay would be pleasing to the eyes of those who visit
it.
IX. Rationale of the Project
According to the 2020 census, Brgy Tambo has an area of approximately 2.383
square kilometers and a population of 12,572. The barangay has a 5,275/km² Population
Density. The barangay was situated along the way, and in the urban areas, the mode of
transportation to go to other wards was by means of walking or either riding an urban
public transport.
When the pandemic struck, it affected everything and everyone, and many
families' incomes in the country suffered as a result of the crisis. This pandemic also had
an impact on their ability to meet the needs of their children, especially their need for
schooling.
Junks are everywhere. All of us have some amount of junk stored in the garage, in
the backyard, and somewhere around the house. Residents of Barangay Tambo want to
get rid of it, so they dispose of it everywhere. When it comes to waste management,
Barangay Tambo has poor management, as the garbage collector rarely comes to gather
and collect the community's waste, resulting in a poor environment. The initiative that we
will put into action in Barangay Tambo is one of the issues they are now dealing with,
that is the cluttered environment and lack of proper garbage disposal. These issues affect
the entire community, which inspired the concept of "Basura Drive: A Project to Help
Students Thrive" The project's sole purpose was to provide families another option for

providing school supplies for their children while also assisting in the maintenance of a
healthy and clean community environment.
X. Objectives
The “Basura Drive: A Project to Help Students Thrive” aims to provide school
supplies to the selected 100 students of Tambo Elementary School. The following are the
specific objectives of the project:
➢ Collect junk such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, aluminum cans, etc. in Barangay
Tambo to ensure the community's cleanliness
➢ Assist the residents of Barangay Tambo in making our environment more
sustainable
➢ To educate residents of Barangay Tambo about proper waste disposal to ensure an
effective and efficient waste disposal system
➢ To generate an income by selling the collected junk
➢ To provide school supplies in exchange for the junk we have accumulated
➢ To help the students by providing school supplies in order for them to enjoy
learning more
➢ To help their parents save money in buying school supplies
➢ To reach the approximately 2000 households of the community in 6 Saturdays of
collecting junk
XI. Description of the Project
The project "Basura Drive: A Project to Help Students Thrive" intends to collect
garbage (such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, and tin cans) that will be sold to provide
school supplies to 100 students at Tambo Elementary School who are unable to afford
them. This initiative will concentrate on community organization and cleanliness. The
reduction of visible garbage in Brgy will be helped by cleaning and collecting rubbish.
Tambo is a town in the Batangas province of Lipa. In addition to the funds earned from
selling garbage or trash, a media platform fundraising campaign will be undertaken to
request financial assistance for the distribution of resources to children who do not have
the means to acquire school supplies. The entire procedure will be overseen by the
proponents with the assistance of SK members to ensure everyone's safety. To ensure the
safety of the participants, the barangay will provide basic medications and a first-aid kit,
while the proponents will provide basic accommodation food such as bread and water.
Furthermore, as part of our project's execution, the proponents will provide Brgy. Tambo
a letter of permission to start distributing school supplies through community clean-up.

XII. Strategies and Methods of Implementation
In order for this project to be successful, it is essential to reach out first to the
barangay officials to get a letter of permission. In that way, they would be aware of the
project to be implemented. Following that, the proponents would seek assistance from the
officials regarding the processes and strategies that can be used to collect junk. After
discussing how the drive will be done, the proponents and officials will work together to
promote it to the community and social media so that others can either donate their trash
and school supplies, or the proponents will state the information about the drive, like how
long it will last, the benefits, and the goal of this said activity.
