diversion across the Purok Jose Palma it is also an approach for the community to implement
comprehensive strategies to efficiently manage wastes disposal. Having proper management
practices help minimize the garbage and scraps that need handling. To ensure the
sustainability of this program we use efficient materials that helps create economic benefits
while protecting the environment.

program and we are hoping that they will cooperate because it's also for their own good.

of P 6.618

Source of Fund:Group budget and Personal Contribution

II. Rationale
Waste management is an important element of environmental protection. Its purpose is to
provide hygienic, efficient and economic solid waste storage, collection, transportation and treatment
or disposal of waste without polluting the atmosphere, soil or water system. The CWTS students of
Talisay City College was being assigned to visit the Purok of Jose Palma in BaranggayTabunok to
see the place and find a way to help on what are the needs on the Purok. As we visit to the place, they
don't have enough trashbins where they should put their waste. As a way to help the people living in
the community, We the CWTS students came up with an idea of placing Trashbins with a label of
Biodegradable, Non-Biodegradable and Recyclable, Beautifying the area by planting flowers along
the road, creating a mini vegetable garden in which the Purok will benefits, putting up Environment
and Anti-drug signages to remind the community how important to have a healthy environment.

III. Objectives
1.Aims to beautify the area by implementing planting of flowers using recyclable materials to
atleast to lessen the waste of plastic bottles and other stuffs that are still useful.

2.To help maintain the cleanliness of the place.

3. To introduce strategies on how to make the place into a low waste community.
IV. Methodology
Upon implementing this Project Proposal, the methods that the students consider are the
following: First they are given an assessment tool in which could help students to identify what are
the needs of the purok, Interview people living the purok on what are the things that their Purok lack
of in terms of having a much better environment. After the interview the students thoroughly think on
what should they are are going to do to help the community based on the response that they got from
the interview and base on how they see the place. They came up with an idea of providing some
materials and things that would help the community living the area to atleast minimize their waste for
a better and much more clean community. Second, we revisit the place to make sure where to put the
trashbins, mini garden, and the planting of flowers using recyclable materials, List all the materials
needed with its total cost. We also visit some places on where to buy the materials needed for the
purok enhancement. By that we end up on finishing our Budget proposal with the proper unit costs of
every material that we are going to need. For the Clean and green, the students are going to
voluntarily clean the area since the last time we visit there is a certain place in which there are a lot of
garbages. We will be going to makesure that the area is clean before creating a mini garden. And by
putting signages we end up in a plan to put the signages in every street of the purok where in people
living the community can easily see it. For the Solid waste Management, Material recovery facility
will be made so that recyclable materials such as plastic bottles are easy to be pick up by those
people who are being task by the Baranggay to get the garbage every week. And for their waste
segregation an idea was made by the students to install trashbins with a proper label of waste
segregation in an area in which lots of people will probably throw their garbage and waste.
