Proper Segregation and Proper Waste Disposal

 We have many problem in our country including this are the waste. Waste is the
biggest dilemma in our lives, especially in our health. Waste like animal debris, paper, but
among them are the plastic. As one of the agencies that focuses on the environmental
problems in our country including this is the waste also. Department of Environment and
Natural Resources (DENR) have a mission that the same to us. A mission to protect,
restore, and enhance the environmental quality towards public health and a vision to have
a clean and healthy environment that enhance the Filipino Quality of life for the present
and future generations. Also our municipality of Pontevedra need to see this problem in our
barangay to cooperate each other to solve this problem. If we can help each other we can
do this. The waste that we problem everyday, we can decrease this. The waste that did not
separate properly can cause a major problem or disaster that became a biggest issue
every time the disasters happened like typhoon. If this project implemented to have a
proper segregation and disposal of waste we can able to avoid this kind of problems.
Waste are unwanted or unusable materials. Waste is any substance which is
discarded after primary use, or is worthless, defective and of no use. It's a by-product by
contrast is a joint product of relatively minor economic value. Waste are toxic if it is
poisonous, radioactive, explosive, carcinogenic (causing cancer), mutagenic (causing
damage to chromosomes), teratogenic (causing birth defects), or bioaccumulative (that is,
increasing in concentration at the higher ends of food chains).
In Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz , most of the people throwing their waste
improperly or they throwing it anywhere, some people have a trashcan to throw their waste
but they don't have a proper segregation as this all results the waste are not dispose
properly. If we don't have a proper waste segregation and waste disposal this will have a
bad effects to our environment and to our health. So that, we had planned to create this
project in order to solve this problem. A project to have proper waste segregation and
proper waste disposal in this barangay to have a healthy environment for everyone.
The waste is the common problem of some barangay in Pontevedra especially in
Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz. About a million of wasted they collected every month of the
waste collector. Plastic are the most waste they collected. Because of excessive use of
plastic and improper disposal of this waste that they use, many drainage clogged that may
cause a flood every time a heavy rain fall or typhoon pass.
Flood is the common disaster happen here in the Pontevedra now. It is not just a
ordinary flood but a flood that can take a hundred of lives. This is the result of improper
disposal of our waste. Now that we know the consequences of our action, we need to
change. We need to know now how to dispose and segregate our waste to avoid this
disaster that will happen because of us.
This project about barangay proper segregation and disposal have a goal to
decrease the waste, the flood that may occur because of improper segregation and
disposal, to improve air and water quality,to protect the environments and the health of the
populations,and to have a clean and healthy barangay to enhance the people quality of
living there and to avoid sickness that waste bring to them.
Every section in barangay the health center, waiting shed, barangay hall, park,
covered court and even a school in barangay a trash bin will be put in a proper
segregation. A signage like Recycle, Non-biodegradable, and Biodegradable will be put or

even a picture to every trash bin. Also, we will put signages that has a sentences,
phrases or even picture to tell people to put their waste in a right trash bin. And every
weekend a dump truck will collect those waste and dumpers will collect the garbages to put
in dump truck, barangay officials will monitor of our project of how it’s goes and will take
care in proper waste disposal.
It will start if it has a a fund that can support this project. This project will start this
month and will last after 6 months. If this project will be successful we will add another
months or years. People in barangay are the one who can benefit this. A good outcome
like no more excessive garbage that littery, avoid the flood that may occurs, and a healthy
neighborhood may arise.
The proper waste segregation aims to lessen the effect of improper waste disposal.
One of these effects is the flood. By this way we could reduce the excess waste in our
community. We could use other waste and convert them into something that is useful. Like
we could use biodegradables as fertilizers, and the recyclables can also be turned into new
products like school chairs and tables.
This will be our overall needs and cost in this project.
