Firstly, the use of cartoon movie can help children to improve their listening and reading
comprehension(Gustian, 2016). As all we know, there are several types of learner e.g visual,auditory,
and kinesthetic. Cartoon movie contains video, sounds/musics, and subtitle that possible students to
enjoy the movie and learn at the same time. Visual and auditory student will be very suitable to
learn from it. Is cartoon movie only stuitabe for visual and auditory student? How about kinesthetic
student?. Kinesthetic student can also learn by watching cartoon movie, it triggers children to do as
they instruct, “Blue’s Clues & You” for instance. The cartoon movie contains the activity of human
and dogs, the movie has interaction between the actor and the audience. For exaple, “can you tell
me where is blues? Help me to touch ear!”. From this example, we can conclude that Blue’s Clues &
You cartoon movie is suitable with kinesthetic children to learn with the cartoon movie.
Secondly, cartoon movie triggered children to immitate the character’s language and act.
Childhood is a time when children will imitate everything they see(Soerjono Seokanto,2009). Based
on these statements, it can be said that cartoon movie is a place for children to learn languages and
also learn how to behave well. Beause when childrean are watching cartoon movie, they will
immediately imitate the action and the conversation doing by the actors. Thats why many of cartoon
movie such as We Love Papa Pig and Blue’s Clues & You can be a good media choice for teaching
children.
Finnaly, cartoon movie can help to remove the monotonly and feeling of boring in learning.
Now-a-days, learning is often seen as a serious and stressful activity. We often hear learners
complaining about boring classes and activities. Using cartoons would certainly break the monotony
(Rae, 2000). In learning English grammar for instance, we learn about formulas and rules everyday
and that can make the the learner feel boring. Cartoon movie is an alternative way to teach an it will
remove the feeling of boring and break monotonly in learning.
