To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to recommend Eden Smith. As her teacher, I have seen this young person
exhibit characteristics that make for an excellent student and leader. Knowing you are looking for
exceptional young people, I know she will far exceed your expectations.

Eden is an incredibly driven student, taking on the challenge of advanced courses throughout
high school. This year, she is enrolled in my AP Language and Composition course. Despite
understanding the challenge of such courses, Eden clearly recognizes the importance of college and
hard work. Furthermore, she has always excelled and demonstrated a growth mindset as she was
been constantly willing to do what it takes – like revising essays or redoing assessments - to improve
her work. She certainly understands the tenacity necessary for college and success.

Additionally, Eden puts in the work outside of class as well. Eden has been in multiple clubs
and activities throughout her high school years, and there too, she shows the same mindset. Eden
participates in both National Honor Society and HOSA. That latter, she has been involved with since
her first year of high school, showing such a commitment to and passion for the medical field.
Additionally, Eden has also been an active athlete, taking on both cross country and track for five
years. Her dedication to each is impressive. Eden really strives to do her best in all things, and she
will bring that same positive force to whatever she chooses to do.

I hope you truly consider Eden as she will bring determination, creativity, and enthusiasm to
any group. I give my full endorsement as she moves forward.
