Pairing off

In circling of tides, batchmates now rivals Warren Polido and Joshua Siachua will rock the colors of their
respective schools as they are to ball it out in this upcoming UAAP Season 81.

Polido, a Falcon and Siachua, a Tamaraw both shared talents as they played as teammates representing
Samar Colloge’s banners back in their homeland name the Catbalogan City which lies in the Island of
Samar

Polido and Siachua are cousins; They both respectively finished their school as senior high students in
Samar College where the two have attended. They They were raised in a small barangay named
Guinsurongan And from there on end, the ping pong prodigies began to ripen

Growing up together, they sharpened their abilities and start to show some glance of table tennis
stardom under the surveillance

They were both decorated players as they attented all Palarong Pambansa events during their heydays
as high schoolers. Even at a young age Polido and Siachua showed amazing amount of talent and
potential to the sport they tend to call their “first love”

All throughout their success, these young studs faced their much tougher opponent, which is time.
Having to divide time between sports and academics was not an easy task, sacrificing one for the the
benefit of the other

“Mahirap kasi ipag sabay. minsan wala nang tulog at pahinga. Wala nang time para sa mga pasyal
pasyal”

His time being a student athlete was hard for them, having to split time between studies and sports,
they were not able to have a quality “me” time.

“Ginagawa namin to para sa pamilya namin at sa mga taong umaasa, sa mga taong umaasa, naniniwala
at nagmamahal sa amin.”

Their stints as a student and a paddler are dedicated for their loved ones who gives his strength through
their ups and down, in their rise and downfalls. And never fails to back them up as they they move an
inch closer to their desired paths and glories

“Be a man of few words and more on actions. Be humble and trust God. Always”

The two Catbalogan natives are aiming to serve as an inspiration to all aspiring Catbalogan student
athletes to believe that anything is possible with God in your hands, and always let your game speak for
yourself

Undeniably, the noticeable rise of homegrown talents here in Catbalogan puts the scouts eyeing for the
next big star, and the growth of sportsmen will not be stopped as Catbalogan City develops to a
powerhouse and transcends into a force to be wrecking with, spearheaded by top tier athletes.
