On third of July of 2018, Historically the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte

deliver his third State of the Nation Address to his stakeholders, He gave his past achievements
for this past years that he commanded his office, also he state the present situation of our
country, as well as announcing the broad future project and prospect of his administration. He
also give and discussed the exact point of the key policies, programs and initiatives of the
government.

SONA is not just about what the President did this past few years, it was also the presentation of
what his administration did including his cabinet secretaries, lawmakers from Senate and House
of the Representative and other governing bodies and institution.

But the netizens are not just focus on what the President will report to us, His stakeholder, but
the netizens are also became fashion mavens ahead to what the Senate and the House of
Representatives wear their gowns and barongs to the full view of the event.

While the lawmakers, government employees and the diplomat corps are enjoying their comfort
inside the Batasan Pambansa, Outside of the said institution there are demonstration of people
who have several points of contention against the Duterte administration from different sectors
and organizations everyone seems to have a point against the regime. What started out as a
promising tenure, with invitations of both pro and anti-government personalities has since
become an interesting.

As interesting as the demonstrator outside the Batasan, Prior to the President giving his third
SONA, this sona for me is like a real primetime drama show which there is a real fought over the
seat and power of being the House Speaker as a result the State of the nation address has been
delayed by an hour as advice of who will be seated beside President Duterte was not immediately
finalized after Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sworn as the new House Speaker. The
Congress ousted Pantaleon Alvarez. It’s like a real coup de ta of those politician who is thirst of
power.

Corruption - Duterte has fired several high ranking officials, who were close to him because of
corruption allegations. However, he remained under fire after some officials accused of
irregularities remained close to the President such as Agriculture Undersecretary Pompee La
Viña, former Customs Commissioner-turned Civil Defense administrator Nicanor Faeldon, and
Pampanga Representative Gloria Arroyo.

The President also issued a stern warning against government agencies particularly under the

TRAIN Law - In his speech, the President stressed that the government will not allow the
suspension of the implementation of TRAIN or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion

resulted in the regularization of more than 300,000 workers as of early this month.” He added

security of tenure. Also he admit his executive order won't suffice.

On Mining and the Environment - The President emphasized in his SONA that “the protection of
the environment must be the top priority and extracted resources must be used for the benefit of
the Filipino people, not just a selected few.” He Tells irresponsible miners to stop destroying
watersheds, forests, and bodies of water. Says natural resources must benefit to all.
