Seminar’s Description and Reaction:

Group III-Nitrides semiconductor materials, including GaN, InN, AlN, InGaN,

AlGaN and AlInGaN, i.e. (Al, In, Ga)N, are excellent semiconductors, covering the

spectral range from deep ultraviolet (DUV) to UV, visible and infrared, with unique

properties very suitable for modern electronic and optoelectronic applications.

The electrical properties of field effect transistors (FETs) fabricated on hydrogen

terminated diamond have been greatly improved by exposing the diamond surface to

nitrogen dioxide. Exposure to NO2 gas significantly increased the hole sheet charge

density up to 1.3×1014 cm-2, which is several times higher than previously reported

values. FETs exposed to NO2 gas exhibited lower source and drain resistances, which

facilitated a 1.8-fold increase in maximum drain current, transconductance increased 1.5

times and power gain cut-off frequency increased 1.6 times.

The seminar taught us about semiconductors, transistors, mosfet, and OLED

which is commonly used in tv screens, cellphones.

PAGASA is the Philippine national institution dedicated to provide flood and

typhoon warnings, public weather forecast and advisories, meteorological, astronomical,

climatological, and other specialized information and services primarily for the protection

of life and property in support of economic, productivity and sustainable development.

The government agency was December 8, 1972 by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 78

reorganizing the Philippine Weather Bureau into PAGASA.

PAGASA has a wide variety of studies that circling around mainly in science,

geophysics and astronomy. They assess and evaluate the collection of data in the

atmosphere and being processed to give benefits to agriculture, commerce and industry.

It has been a good opportunity to be able to visit a company related to our subject

course and be able to witness the application written and studied as a theory in school.

Also the knowledge that the speaker shared about their institution, there services, the

different safety precautions that we may apply in future emergencies. In addition the

different movements of typhoon.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) shall maintain and

continuously improve a regulatory regime conducive to the development and provision of

an affordable, viable, reliable and accessible telecommunications infrastructure and

services. By 2015, the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) shall be a

stronger and more pro-active regulatory agency able to steer the telecommunications

sector as a primary engine for national progress and development.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) provides, installs, operate

and conduct the Necessity/Provisional Authority for telecommunications, broadcast and

CATV services. They also issue licenses to operate land, maritime, aeronautical and

safety devices. Also they maintain the operation installation of private and public radio

stations, television broadcasting station, and cable television stations as amended,

regulating and supervised public telecommunications services.

It has been a great opportunity to be able to participate in their seminar that I may

able to acquire knowledge especially in their communication services. Their main role in

our society to provide important information, to asses’ people in their problems related to

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique identifier given to every machine in

a network. It is used as an interfaced identification for a network machine and it also

serves to provide location of that machine, much like a physical address for home or

business. It also allows computer to send or receive information to and from specific

computers in a given network.

In the Seminar the speaker taught us the purpose of IP address, their purpose

and their uses.

Seminar’s Description and Reaction:

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware

and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a

button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on

an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set

of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. To do so you use the Arduino

programming language (based on Wiring), and the Arduino Software (IDE), based on

Processing.

As a student the seminar taught us the basic uses of Arduino Uno that may able

to use in future project or thesis related studies. The speaker
