PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF ADOLESCENTS

1.Discuss the factors that influence the onset of puberty.

 There the factors that influence the onset of puberty , the


factors is inheritance or genetics , metabolic rate (burning
calories due to menstruation) , environment , nutrition, and
health. Inheritance exert a great influence the onset puberty ,
among the most significant influence are the physical
propertiest of a person such as body size , eye colour , hair
colour , skin colour , and blood type. The invironment refers to
the invironment around the individual including living areas ,
socioeconomics , sociology ,education, nutrition , mass media
and soan . this atmosphere is experienced daily from time to
time . thus , the environment must have a tremendous
influence the onset of puberty.

2. Explain the pubertal changes experienced by both boys and girls.

 There are many puberty changes experienced by both girls and


boys . The most notable changes are the maturation of
reproductive organ and secondary sex characteristics. Changes
experienced in boys are the penis enlargement and diamond-
shape hair growth the onset of this process called puberche , it
is also happen to a girl . the changes experienced in girls are
the breast enlargement, the beginning of this process is called
as thelarche . In addition the boy shoulders and chest will grow
wider than the hips and for girl the hips will grow wider than
the shoulders.

3. Discuss the psychological impact of puberty on adolescents and how


does it affect teaching and learning in the classroom.

 The effect of puberty on adolescents psychology is that


adolescents are more likely cope with emotional cgange ,
especially for girl adolescents . During the early puberty the
hormone levels change rapidly , which can cause the teenage
girls become depressed. Moreover, it canalso cause teenagers
to feel worse than others as a result of hormone changes. How
it effects teaching and learning in the classroom is , they may
feel under pressure in school and have anxiety over friendship.
This will cause the adolescent to be less focused in the
classroom and less comfortable with learning.

4. Discuss the various health problems faced by adolescents, and give


suggestions to overcome them

 The health problem that adolescent face are mental illness, the
leading cause of mental illness among adolecents is due to
depression.This problem can be addressed through
psychological therapy.For example using the therapy
supportive counseling . In addition , obesity is also a major
health problems among adolecents. Thet don’t practice
balanced eating and the eating habits come especially during
the hormonr changes occur. The best way to deal with this is to
practice a balance diet based on the food phyramid and do
exercise effectively.
