INTRODUCTION
Family. It’s a word that brings up many emotions. All of us have some connection to family, whether

good, or bad. For most of us it’s a mixture of both. Our families shape the way we look at the world

and how we function in it. They also impact the way we view marriage, children and even ourselves.

Today’s culture has a lot to say about family. Everywhere, society is challenging who it comprises,

what it means, and how it is defined. With so many opinions out there, it can be hard to figure out

what family is all about — and if it even matters anymore.

1. AMUSEMENT PARK
An amusement park is a park that features various attractions, such as rides and games, as well as

other events for entertainment purposes. A theme park is a type of amusement park that bases its

structures and attractions around a central theme, often featuring multiple areas with different

themes. Unlike temporary and mobile funfairs and carnivals, amusement parks are stationary and

built for long-lasting operation. They are more elaborate than city parks and playgrounds, usually

providing attractions that cater to a variety of age groups. While amusement parks often contain

themed areas, theme parks place a heavier focus with more intricately-designed themes that revolve

around a particular subject or group of subjects.

The amusement park evolved from three earlier traditions: traveling or periodic fairs, pleasure

gardens and exhibitions such as world fairs. The oldest influence was the periodic fair of the Middle

Ages - one of the earliest was the Bartholomew Fair in England from 1133. By the 18th and 19th

centuries, they had evolved into places of entertainment for the masses, where the public could

view freak shows, acrobatics, conjuring and juggling.

The amusement park industry's offerings range from large, worldwide type theme parks such as Walt

Disney World, SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood to smaller and medium-sized

theme parks such as the Six Flags parks and Cedar Fair parks. Countless smaller ventures exist

across the United States and around the world. Simpler theme parks directly aimed at smaller

children have also emerged, such as Legoland.

Examples of amusement parks in shopping malls exist in West Edmonton Mall, Pier 39 and Mall of

America.

Family fun parks starting as miniature golf courses have begun to grow to include batting cages, go-

karts, bumper cars, bumper boats and water slides. Some of these parks have grown to include even

roller coasters, and traditional amusement parks now also have these competition areas in addition to

their thrill rides.

In 2015, theme parks in the United States had a revenue of US$8 billion and theme parks

in China had a revenue of US$4.6 billion, with China expected to overtake the United States by 2020

2. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
One of the best days out you can have, great fun, Long ques, crowds, bad weather, noisy, very
lots to do, lots of excitement and adrenaline. expensive, some people may not be able to go on
the rides with you.
Good food, fun rides, great for families and
friends, excitement, no drama, all fun. Sometimes expensive, lines, crying babies a lot,
sometimes expensive food or souvenirs, day
seems to pass too quickly, sunburn.

3. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR FAMILIES?

The smiling face or bewildered expression of a kid on a roller coaster with her mom or dad is more

than enough to provide any parent a lifetime of half-grins and chuckles at the memory.

Every parent knows that spending family time is important for the whole family, but why? Most

people wouldn’t get concerned about the reasons; however there is more than enough scientific

proof to back up this gut feeling that parents already have.

Family bonding time has multiple benefits, including helping families listen to each other and

interact better and more effectively with one another. It reinforces mutual respect and boosts

children’s mental health and development.

Having dinner every night together is family bonding time, but it might not be enough, nor is it

feasible for many families to do regularly. Experts recommend sharing fun activities together—

such as visits to a park, attending a concert, or hitting the rides at an amusement park—as having

a positive effect over the long term for the development of a child.
4. CONCLUSION

I think it's all about convenience, accessibility, and wide appeal. Theme parks are almost always

located near major cities with easy to access airports, which allow guests to easily plan trips with

few complications, even if you're going to multiple parks across multiple chains in a single trip.

Once your in the parks, things can get complicated, but for the most part, planning the general

logistics for a theme park vacation are pretty simple. Parks are making it even easier with airport

connection shuttles, on-property hotels, and other amenities that can make a theme park vacation

very much like an all-inclusive resort at a tropical paradise. Not only are theme parks easy

destinations for vacation, they also are great options for day and weekend trips that are becoming

more common in our fast paced world. If you live in or near a major city, visiting a theme park for a

day is an easy and cheap alternative to more distant natural wonders or crowded and expensive

urban attractions.

Then there's the appeal. Theme parks appeal to the entire family, and while not everything in

every theme park appeals to every member of the family, most successful parks have something

for everyone. Not many singular tourist attractions like museums, national/state parks, beaches,

etc... can claim the breadth of appeal that theme parks have.

People are going to go on vacation, and the goal of most vacations is to get away, so whether

you're bumming out on a beach or waving a wand in front of a window, you're still getting away

from you day to day routine. Theme parks are one of many options, but have become popular

because they're easy to visit, are a relatively decent value typically because they're east to get to,

and they have something for just about everyone.
