EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING:

Aim: To forecast the closing price of Indian bank for upcoming month using Exponential
Smoothing

Purpose: To know about the closing price of Indian Bank For 13th month

Procedure:

Step 1: Go to Excel and open the given data set

Step 2: Analyze the problem and do the forecast of next month closing price

Step 3: Go to Data Analysis – Exponential smoothing

Step 4: Enter input range (closing values) and damping factor of 0.3

Step 5: Select labels and enter output range (select 3rd value of another column for
forecasting)

Step 6: Click Ok and check the forecasted value for closing price of 13th month of Indian Bank

Interpretation:

So, after doing Exponential smoothing to forecast the closing price of October month of Indian
bank, we get the answer of 297.69. Therefore, the closing price of Indian bank for October
month is 297.69

 2. MOVING AVERAGE METHOD:

Aim: To forecast the sales of Oppo Mobiles for 13th week

Purpose: To know about the sales of Oppo Mobiles for upcoming week

Procedure:

Step 1: Go to Excel and open the given data set

Step 2: Analyze the problem and observe the sales for the given 12 weeks

Step 3: Go to Data Analysis – select Moving Average

Step 4: Select the input range of given 12 weeks sales

Step 5: click on labels and enter the interval value of 0.3

Step 6: select the output range ( select 3 weeks below)

Step 7: click ok and check the output

Interpretation:

By using Moving Average method the expected sales for 13th week is 19.67
