Essar Steel is a world-class steel manufacturer with

Global Operations
Essar Steel Algoma in Canada has a current capacity
of 4 MTPA. Essar Steel Minnesota, USA (with iron ore
reserves of over 1.4 billion tonnes) is developing an
8 MTPA pellet plant, an ore concentration plant and a
Direct Reduced Iron plant. In Indonesia, Essar Steel
is the largest private steel processor and operates
a 0.4 MTPA cold rolling complex, with a galvanising
line of 0.15 MTPA. In the West Midlands, UK, Essar
Steel operates a processing and distribution facility of
0.5 MTPA capacity. An additional capacity has also
been built at Dubai, UAE.
Indian Operations
Essar Steel is the largest single location flat steel
producer in India, with a capacity of 10 MTPA at
Hazira, Gujarat. The steel plant is backed by an
iron ore beneficiation and a pellet unit that ensures
uninterrupted supply of quality raw material. It operates
the world's second longest slurry pipeline of 267 kms
from Bailadila to Visakhapatnam and a 253 kms slurry
pipeline from Dabuna to Paradip in India. Additionally,
it is setting up 12 MTPA iron ore beneficiation and
pellet plants in Odisha. The Essar Steel complex at
Hazira has a complete infrastructure set up including
a captive port, power, lime & oxygen plants, and a
township housing more than 2,000 families.
Essar Steel has set up a 1.5 MTPA plate mill and a
0.6 MTPA pipe mill at Hazira to add further value to
its product portfolio. Essar Steel has India's largest
steel processing and distribution capacity of 4 MTPA
at its seven facilities, located at key automotive
and industrial hubs. It also has the distinction of
being one of the country's biggest galvanisers and
producers of cold rolled and colour coated products.

Shot Blasted and
Primed Plates
Essar Steel shot blasted and primed plates are made
by shot blasting to free steel of all contamination (mill
scale, rust, etc.), cleaning all surfaces thoroughly.
They can be used directly to save time and cut costs,
giving a surface profile that allows for excellent
adhesion of primer coat and paint.

Products
Hot dip galvanised steels are produced at Essar Steel's
1 MTPA state-of-the-art galvanising mill by applying
a coating of molten zinc to the surface of a cold
rolled product. The galvanised coils have excellent
corrosion resistance and are used extensively in
various industries.
