WORK METHOD STATEMENT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FITTING CONNECTIONS OF 10”X

1500# SENIOR DANIEL ORIFICE DEVICE

I. INTRODUCTION
This method statement is a brief description of how CONTRACTOR intents to successfully carry
out the said machining services. In preparing this bid, the following assumptions were made:
a. That the weight of the Daniel orifice device is approximately 1.6 ton
b. That the device is not having loose parts internally and would not damage due to
machine rotation
c. That flame cutting of the outer part of the RF flange would not introduce so much heat
as to damage the orifice internals
II. SCOPE OF WORK
The work scope as includes:
a. To receive from you a brand new senior Daniel orifice fitting with both end connection
made in standard 10”x 1500# RF fitting.
b. You specified that CONTRACTOR is to change the end connection to 10”high schedule
spool end with weld neck taper and the other end shall be standard 10”x 1500# RTJ
flange.
III. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
CONTRACTOR intends to carry out the work in the following sequence:
a. Pick up the 10”x 1500# Daniel orifice device from your Port Harcourt office with a self-
loader truck
b. Review all the details of the work to be done and carry out dimensional checks with
both the workshop manager and the client representative
c. Produce a sketch of what the final dimension of the device should be after machining
works and obtain client approval prior to starting the work
d. Trim off the RF flange on the spool end of the device by flame cutting
e. Mount the device on a heavy duty lathe machine and carry out alignment checks
f. Run test cuts to ensure there is no mistake
g. Carry out full machining, ensuring constant dimensional checks to obtain the right spool
end
h. Turn the RF end face and machine the RTJ groves, recess and edge trim
i. Double check all the dimensions with standard RTJ ring (R54) and all other dimensions in
the presence of the client representative
j. Obtain the approval of the client representative
k. Prepare the Daniel orifice device for load out and transport with self-loader to the Port
Harcourt office of the client
