The Schönbrunn Zoo takes care of 250 different wild animal species. The University of Veterinary
Medicine, Vienna started a study in order to show how the behaviour of animals is influenced by the
fact that they are kept in captivity. A sample of 50 animals was analysed in this study, the gathered
data is presented in the table below:

proportion of wild animals which required 3 months;

our study?
e) Organise the data about the “Average no. of sleep hours/day” dividing into 3 classes
and find the structure of sample with respect to quartiles;

relationship between their ancientness in the zoo and how friendly are they on a
