1.1.Project introduction
A heritage center s a building primarily dedicated to presentation of historical and cultural information.
Heritage center typically differs from most traditional museums in usually featuring a high proportion of
hands on exhibit and live or lifelike specimens and practical artifacts. This project consists of spaces
designed to give people knowledge by doing something rather than just reading about it or seeing it
being done. This art heritage center will consist of workshops to give pe ople a better perspective of
what they are seeing. It will not only consist of workshops but a shopping center also where they can get
memento. The shopping center will give employment to many local craftsman and painters.

1.2.Need of the study

Heritage conservation is a major factor in promoting tourism. It helps us to understand previous
traditions and their evolution process. The link between heritage and tourism is the most visible aspect
of contribution of culture to local development. The identification protection and management of
historic artworks is very important for any sustainable effort. Heritage visitors stay longer and therefore
have greater per trip economic impact. Due to preservation of heritage many new jobs can be generated
in the tourism sector. When heritage tourism is done right the biggest beneficiaries are not the visitors
but the local residents who experience a renewed appreciation in for and pride in their local city and its
history. Art has the ability to transport us into different time and place it allows us to gain historical
perspective and understanding.

1.3.Aim of the study

This study aims at designing art heritage center for preserving Mughal artworks to generate
employment in the tourism sector which will eventually lead to the local development.

1.4.Objective of the study

1. To discuss the importance of art and its impact on the visitor.

3. to educate the visitor about various forms of artwork during the Mughal era and their use in today’s
scenario.
4. To understand contribution of heritage conservation in development of society.
5. To study various Mughal artworks and method to conserve them.
6. To establish a center where visitors can know more about evolution of artworks from Mughal era till
now.

1.5.Scope
This study covers designing an art heritage center to conserve all types of painting during the Mughal
empire It also covers designing of spaces which will not only educate about Mughal art but will also
connect people to art by means of workshops and other activities.

1.6.Limitation
This study only covers designing art heritage center for conservation of Mughal art heritage.

Project is limited to designing a center only for art conservation.

1.7.Site 1

Location- The site is located on hotel trident road near hotel trident agra. It is located at a distance of
15.5 km from Taj mahal and 18.1 km from agra fort. The site is located near various accommodations for
all types of visitors

Approach- The site can be approached through taj east gate road. Public vehicles are also available to
reach the site.

Site Area – Approx. 20,000 sqm (4.9 acre)

Site surroundings – the siteis surrounded by various hotels. The site is south facing and has farms to
the north.

Reasons for selecting this site – this site is selected because of its close distance to various
accommodations which can make it easier for the visitors to explore this place

2.1.Project introduction
Famous works done by different architect needs to be documented and displayed to people for them to
understand the buildings surrounding them. This project consists of displays of works of architect from
different era. It will also deal preservation or architectural drawings of famous buildings. It will also act
as an educational center for aspiring architects by means of spaces designed f or lectures and
competition to be held.

2.2.Need of the study

In India people are unaware that how important architect’s contribution is in developing the society. For
better understanding of buildings around us it is important to design a space where multiple architects
work is preserved, researched and exhibited on permanent basis thus provi ding the need to facilitate
such a museum of architecture where students, architects and common people can understand, study
and analyze the works and the relics for a better understanding of their built environment. Exhibition of
works of different architects can serve as a time capsule of human history and human thought.
Architecture is a powerful reflection of human culture and therefore needs to be exhibited to
strengthen the connection between people and their built environment. It is essential to disp lay how
architecture responds to society’s functional needs while making use of modern technology in building
design. The global population is not only growing but also urbanizing at a rapid rate. As this trend
accelerates, the role of architecture in designing sustainable space will become critical.

2.3.Aim of the study

The purpose of the museum is to showcase the work of important national and international architects
and to create a timeline for visitor of how buildings around them have evolved from the past and give
them a better understanding of how it can be further developed.

2.4.Objective of the study

2.5.Scope
1. This project covers all types works done by different architects on a national and international level.
2. It covers display of drawings as well as models of famous buildings.

2.6.Limitation
This project covers display of only architectural works.

2.7.SITE 2

Location- The site is located near agra fort. The site has a scenic view of agra fort. Taj gardens are also
located near the site.

Approach - The site can be reached by agra bah marg. Public vehicles like bus and auto rickshaw are
available to reach to the site.

Site Area- 32430.19 sqm (8.01 acre)

Site surroundings- The site is surrounded by military housing area to the south west side, agra fort
toward north. The site gives beautiful view of taj gardens in the front.

Reasons for selecting this site- this site is selected because of its close proximity to the agra fort and
its location in the main city of agra. The site is well connected to other monuments like taj mahal, taj
garden, mehtab bagh etc.. the site is also near to Yamuna river.

3.1.Project introduction
A Cultural Theme Park is an amusement park which is themed on a particular culture, and all its rides,
attractions as well as other elements of interest are based on ideas from that specific culture. In this
case, the culture refers to the “Culture of India”, and all the recreational elements used are meant to be
associated which this culture. This thesis project would propose a Theme Park, which would depict the
Indian Culture, its richness and versatility on a large scale. Its areas would be distributed geo graphically,
so that the people who belong to India but are eager to get acquainted with its culture as well as the
people who visit the country, both get a clear idea of what the country has to offer and relate it well
with their own understanding.

3.2.Need of the study

A theme park is a destination, which combines entertainment, food and beverage and shops, and a n
environment that is different from that found outside its gates. A theme is used to provide a focus for
the design, development and operation of such a park. Theme parks are star players in the tourism
industry, and play a special and important role in generating tourism demand. Due to lack of proper
promotion and global advertisement many Indian traditions which depict Indian culture to its fullest, do
not fall in the notice of tourists and visitors. A cultural theme park, depicts the culture of our country at
its best, highlighting the low-promotion zones and give an appreciable definition to “India”.

3.3.Aim of the study

The aim of this study is to create a park which would promote various Indian traditions by means of
recreational elements. Its aim is to promote Indian culture around the world and to design spaces to let
people escape from their day to day life in to relaxation and fun

3.4.Objective of the study

1. To generate tourism by design a theme park.
2. To design recreational activities which would transport people into Mughal era.

3. To design spaces creating a timeline of Mughal empire.
4. To provide spaces for visitors who wish to stay longer.
5. To give visitors experiences which will help them know more about their culture .
6. To create stationary and long lasting recreational space unlike temporary funfair and carnivals.

3.5.Scope
This project covers all elements of interest and entertainment which would depict the culture of Mughal
empire in india. It will consist of spaces which would depict scenes from Mughal era an d give people a
better understanding of the culture.

3.6.Limitation
It project consists of a theme park which will depict only Mughal traditions and its culture.

3.7.Site 3

Location - the site is located on national highway 2 Agra Mathura road runukta Agra. It is located near
north india’s biggest water park the dolphin water park. It is located near soor sarovar wildlife sanctuary
keetham jheel and Yamuna river.

Approach – the site can be approached by national highway 2 Agra Mathura Road. Visitor can get
public vehicles from Sikandra or Runukta. Bus facility is available at bhagwan talkies. It is located 8.8 km
from Akbar’s tomb at sikandra agra.

Site Area - Approx 60,000 sqm (14.8 acre)

Site surroundings – the site is surrounded keetham jheel on the north side and is adjacent to dolphin
water park. Site is located in away from the crowded city and is a very good place to relax one’s mind.

Reasons for selecting this site – this site is selected because of its location away from the city so that
the visitor can relax here. This site has scenic view of Yamuna river and keetham jheel. The site is away
from the city but is easily accessible by public and private vehicle.
