Focus on English Language Learners(ELL)

Discuss the cultural background of the Elizabeth is a student from Minsk, Belarus. She is studying to become an interpreter in English and
student. Explain how you will use their German and wants to pursue her Master’s Degree in international relations. Her father, who is a
cultural knowledge and experiences as priest, was in the LCI program a few years back, so she has actually lived in Gaming before.
Elizabeth has a younger sister and an older brother who lives in Poland.

concerned about using her personal cultural knowledge and experiences as a basis for teaching. She is
considered an advanced English learner and most of our tutoring sessions will consist of learning
technical grammar being able to understand it specifically for the Cambridge Test.
What is the level of students’ heritage Elizabeth’s English is excellent. She seems to have very good listening skills and speaking skills. She
(native or home) language skills in all did tell me that one of the things she struggles with is grammar, specifically with verb tenses. Dr.

Consult with the students’ English as a Dr. Healy reaffirmed everything I’ve already learned about Elizabeth. She agreed that Elizabeth is
Second Language (ESL) teachers or extremely smart and her level of English is quite good. She also said that Elizabeth sometimes
tutors(Dr. Healy) and struggles with remembering information and being able to apply that knowledge. I told Dr. Healy
share ideas on how to support the what I’ve been doing with Elizabeth thus far and reiterated some of her goals. Dr. Healy gave me a
students’ learning in both the content grammar and vocabulary book for the Cambridge Test and suggested I go through it with Elizabeth
classroom and during our tutoring sessions. I plan to use this workbook for the remainder of our tutoring sessions in
the ESL classroom addition to helping her with any homework questions she may have and developing a personal
. relationship with her while helping her improve on her spoken English skills.

*I did use the workbook, but not as much as I had planned to use it.
