BOLETÍN: COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018 FOR A THRIVING, MODERN AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRY

COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018 took place from September 24 th to 28 th at CORFERIAS, as part of the
International Fair of Bogotá. This event, organized by ACOPLÁSTICOS every two years, has positioned itself as
the most important fair in the Andean, Central American and Caribbean Region for the plastics, rubber and
petrochemical industries. The visitors of COLOMBIAPLAST EXPOEMPAQUE were able to know the latest
advances in machinery, raw materials, supplies and services, as well as the new trends in packaging and
packaging lines.

COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018 presented, within its commercial exhibition, the latest developments
in machinery, robotics equipment, accessories, tools, molds, raw materials and supplies, finished and semi-
finished products, services and publications. This year, the event had an area of 15,000 M2, located in pavilions
11 to 19 of the CORFERIAS Great Hall. The commercial sample was represented by 110 exhibiting companies,
both national and international, 485 brands and an attendance of more than 45,000 visitors.

On this occasion, in addition to entrepreneurs from countries that traditionally participate in the exhibition
such as the United States, Canada, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Chile, Portugal, France, Spain, the Andean
Community, Central America and the Caribbean, COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018 had delegations,
from Brazil, Taiwan, China and Qatar.

Since its first version, COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE has positioned itself as the propitious event to
strengthen the commercial relations of the sectors of Plastic, Rubber, Petrochemical, Packaging and Packaging,
both nationally and internationally. Likewise, it is recognized as the best industrial exhibition of the Bogota
International Fair and has attracted a significant number of exhibitors and assistants, as well as business
opportunities, with local and foreign customers.

COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018, in addition to the commercial exhibition, is complemented by a

specialized international buyer’s mission, a business roundtable and an academic agenda that includes a series
of conferences of interest to entrepreneurs.

ACOPLÁSTICOS and PROCOLOMBIA allied, as usual, within the framework of COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE

items. With initiatives such as the business roundtable, local companies had the opportunity to establish
commercial relationships with a great diversity of foreign firms.

On this occasion 23 international buyers from 12 countries (Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States,
Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia) and 62 exporters
participated in the buyer´s mission, whose offer was made up of manufacturers, marketers and producers of
rigid, flexible packaging, lids and plastic products in general and with 440 appointments, business expectations
were registered for more than 16 million dollars.

ACOPLASTICOS, aware of the needs and concerns of companies and professionals that belong to the sectors it
represents, has turned the academic agenda of COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE into a space for the
exchange of knowledge, aimed at managers, technicians, teachers and university students interested in the
topics of plastic materials, their processes and products, as well as new technologies that will impact the
plastics industry in the future.

In the academic agenda of COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE 2018, among other academic events, the
International Seminar "Opportunities, Challenges and Prospects of the Plastic Industry within Technological
Convergence" was developed. This event, which was held in Corferias on September 25, 2018, it was organized
by The Plastic and Rubber Research and Training Institute (ICIPC) that completed 25 years of work in 2018-,
along with its ally, the Fraunhofer FIT from Germany. Additionally, the academic agenda covered various topics
of interest such as sustainability, cycle closure, new trends and applications of raw materials, new machinery
and equipment, international price behavior, product trends, among others.

The agenda was complemented by the academic offer of the exhibiting companies, who gave lectures on
current issues and presentations of new products, services and developments. These spaces are very useful for
companies and their customers, because they allow the strengthening of their relationships and the
presentation of market developments.

The general objective of COLOMBIAPLAST - EXPOEMPAQUE is to contribute, through the commercial exhibition
and parallel events, to the growth, modernization and sustainable development of the plastics, petrochemical

through this event, ACOPLÁSTICOS ratified the importance of advancing activities aimed at promoting and
improving productivity, business innovation and environmental sustainability, in a context of globalization. The
success of the Trade Fair in 2018, as well as previous versions, is proof of this. The goal of ACOPLASTICOS is to
remain at the forefront of the industry.

ACOPLASTICOS extends the invitation to participate in COLOMBIAPLAST 2020, which will be held from
September 21st to 25th in the city of Bogotá.
