Good Print Ads:

2|Page
ADVERTISING

Explanation:
I consider these Ads (A, B) are good because both ads easily memorable and easily recalled.
Provides sufficient information that help consumer to make purchase decision. In both the ads
provocative image were used that grab consumer attention. Both ads have strong headlines

Eat Lighter, Live Brighter

And

I`ve got my wings back!

Headline dominates the ad so it can be quickly understood. Headline must grab readers, but the
subhead can explain the deal further. So subhead line of first ad

Sunflower oil with Lo-Absorb technology and in second ad subhead line Big-Meaty-crispy (I’m
lovin it). These subhead lines give the reader additional information without cluttering ad. Dalda
Ad was published in Jang news and McDonald’s ad published in Dawn newspaper. So both ads
are designed according to particular class of consumers like Dalda ad is in urdu so it attracts lower
to upper middle class and similarly McDonald’s ad is in English so it attract generally high class
those who read English newspaper and have high level of education. So in this way both ads ensure
to target right audience in right time. In this way both ads are become more effective and develop
a concise, coherent ad that appeals well to its audience. In print advertisement, the timeframe to
make an impression on audience is limited to seconds. So provocative message, clearly defined
objective, Pictures, Strong headline, proper placement of ad in proper media, target right audience
not confuse the reader and calls the viewer to action. From the above mentioned reasons I consider
these as “Good Ads”

Bad Print Ad:

ADVERTISING

Explanation:

A)

In this Honda Ad headline is false and misleading. “Luxury is when your car reflects the color of
your mood”. Customers have the right to know what they are buying, and that all necessary
information should be on the label. How Honda claimed that Honda car reflects the color of my
mood. This Honda Ad give impression of new, stylish model car that is newly introduce in market
but this is a leather seat cover ad. So Information contradict the overall message of the
advertisement. Headline of this ad must be like “New Interior, New car”. Secondly this ad
published in Jang newspaper and majority of Jung newspaper readership are belong to lower and
upper middle class so this ad not target their consumer properly. So reach, frequency and
impression objective are not properly addressed. From the above mentioned reasons I consider this
ad as “Bad Ad”

B)

Headline “khana nahi khaonga” negatively target children’s. Because children mind are immature
and may take negative impact. Although this ad subheading Pediasure increase children’s
efficiency and they grow in a healthy manner. But headline information contradict the overall
message of the advertisement. So this type of ad making deceptive claims about performance of
products. Their subhead line gave impact that if your children not take Pediasure than your children
become dull and week. So all these things mislead consumer. Customers have the right to know
what they are buying, and that all necessary information should be on the label. From the above
mentioned reasons I consider this ad as “Bad Ad”.

C)

I took this photo outside of a bookshop. Weird ad: “German product” Pakistani man wearing fake
moustache trying to look Chinese and two Burmese looking women. False and misleading.
Customers have the right to know what they are buying, and that all necessary information should
be on the label. From the above mentioned reasons I consider this ad as “Bad Ad”.

Good Billboard Ad:

ADVERTISING

A)

This billboard is in Johar Town to be precise. It is one of the busiest thorough fares of the area and
hence the visibility of this board is fairly high. Design will catch the eye of drivers and be readable
at roadway speeds. So people live in Johar Town or in areas around like wapda town, Valencia
town must have noticed. Color theme that zameen.com used dark to attract consumer or audience
to make sure that no property enthusiast miss this function. Headline dominates the ad so it can be
quickly understood. Headline must grab readers, but the subhead can explain the deal further.
Zameen.com this billboard have greater reach and frequency because billboard location is ideal
and daily approximately thousands of people leading to commercial. This billboard installed near
signal so it made this billboard more valuable and target desired audience more efficiently and
effectively. In this way zaeem.com billboard become more effective and develop a concise,
coherent ad that appeals well to its audience. From the above mentioned reasons I consider this ad
as “Good billboard Ad”.

B)

This Gulahmed billboard is in Wapda Town (road link with rewind road). It is one of the busiest
through fares of the area and hence the visibility of this board is fairly high. Design will catch the
eye of drivers and be readable at roadway speeds. GulAhmed ran a very snobby campaign with
the theme ‘The Original Lawn declaring their product to be the most original and thereby placing
themselves far above the mix chat of competitors. In my opinion a great campaign. A single, easy
to recognize image. Large image grab more consumer attention. 3 to 5 words target consumer more
efficiently and anymore may be missed. Color theme is dark pink which is favorite color of ladies.
So this billboard target consumer more. A clear logo or branding also attract consumer because of
source credibility. Limited time and space may encourage the notion that the ad or commercial
must be full to the brim with information. So clear word or head line of this billboard “winter
collection 2015” target consumer who are interested in new collection. Focus message and give a
single idea by using seven to nine words. From the above mentioned reasons I consider this as
“Good billboard Ad”

Bad Billboard Advertising:

ADVERTISING
This Golden sun billboard is in Wapda Town. I consider this billboard bad because of its location.
On a long highway with little traffic on it. In picture you clearly sees that clutter and multiple
images to convey the message actually backfires by creating a clutter of images that can’t be
distinguished from a distance. Secondly even though the individual colors are bright, the
combinations of the colors result in low contrast. The use of too many colors weakens the focus of
the message by producing conflicting emotional responses. Drivers cannot read a billboard because
of small font size and unlikely to look again. Fonts can denote a certain brand style, but should be
avoided in outdoor because they take too much time to read if they can be read at all. From the
above mentioned reasons I consider this as “Bad billboard Ad”.

B)

Huawei mobile billboard ad. I consider this billboard bad because effective outdoor design
degraded by clutter, lack of contrast, small font size, and the wrong font style, all design pitfalls
that can be easily avoided. Color theme is so dull when sun shine small fonts are become more
difficult to read. In this location no signal where cars stop and audience view ad so target is not
managed properly. Height of this billboard also made impossible for normal person to reader or
grab audience attention. The timeframe to make an impression on audience is limited to seconds
so in picture you clearly sees that clutter and multiple images to convey the message actually
backfires by creating a clutter of images that can’t be distinguished from a distance. Headline
“Power of touch” not clearly defined what type of power distinguish this mobile from other. Fonts
can denote a certain brand style, but should be avoided in outdoor because they take too much time
to read if they can be read at all. From the above mentioned reasons I consider this as “Bad
billboard Ad”.
