Megan graduated from high school in San Antonio and went to Texas A&M for college.
She was always interested in science and knew she wanted to do something in healthcare so she
decided to get a Biology degree. She found out about the Physician Assistant profession her
sophomore year of college and knew it was the right fit for her. She graduated from Texas A&M
with a Biology degree and English minor degree. Megan knew she needed patient care
experience before PA school so she started to work as a physical therapy tech where she was
involved in direct patient care and working alongside a physical therapist. During the year she
worked as a PT tech and started applying for PA schools. She ended up getting into Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, TX for PA school and graduated in December 2018. Megan
was hired a few months later to be a Family Medicine PA at Baylor Scott and White Primary
Care- The Star. The practice has numerous physicians and APPs (Nurse Practitioners and
Physician Assistants) and all of the APPs are paired with a supervising physician to work with.
She sees anywhere from 14-19 patients per day and sees them independently but collaborates
with her supervising physician when needed. She sees a variety of complaints in Family
Medicine and treats both children and adults. Overall, Megan really enjoys her profession and
