The Global Trainee Program was designed

The focus of the community development
programs we carry out in each neighborhood
where we operate is education. In addition
to our traditional forms of support through
scholarships and teacher training, we launched
a program to establish a series of technical
schools specializing in electronics and electro-
mechanics. In June 2013, the first Roberto Rocca
Technical School was inaugurated in Campana,
Argentina. Its objective is to strengthen and
modernize technical education, training
professionals to be able to handle the challenges
of industrial management.
ROBERTO ROCCA EDUCATION PROGRAM
Created in 2005 as a tribute to our former Chair-
man, the program offers over 650 scholarships a
year to undergraduate and postgraduate students
from the fields of sciences and engineering.
The program aims to encourage academic and
professional achievements as well as to recognize
a student’s leadership potential, financial
needs and commitment to their home country’s
economic and industrial development.
The Program was created on the premise that
advances in industry and technology are key
to a country’s economic success, and should
begin at grassroots level. Too many countries
have an unmet need for resources to help young
people that choose to study engineering and
the applied sciences.
SOCIAL INCLUSION
We are committed to supporting the development
and growth of each community where we have
a presence. In certain countries we also support
specific health care initiatives, which includes
making donations to hospitals and organizing
events such as marathons to raise health
awareness.
CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING
AND ADVANCEMENT
We work with a range of different cultural insti-
tutions, such as Fundación PROA in Buenos Aires,
the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas, and
the Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea
in Bergamo, Italy. Working with these groups
furthers our acceptance of the cultures which
make up our corporate family. The respect and
acceptance we have for each of these organizations
provide the key to this cultural understanding.

DONATING BRIDGE BUILDING MATERIALS

Tenaris sponsors the efforts of Toni Ruttimann
to build bridges that link isolated communities.
25 years ago, Toni Ruttiman (known as Toni el
Suizo) left Switzerland as a teenager to follow his
dream of helping earthquake victims in Ecuador.
He began working with the local villagers to
create a way to build a much-needed suspension
bridge with few materials, the technical
guidance of a Dutch engineer and the willpower
of the local community. Tenaris began donating
tubular products and spare materials in 2001
to aid in the building of 28 bridges in the State
of Veracruz, Mexico.

Toni has built bridges all over the world and

Tenaris still continues to donate materials to this
cause. He recently wrote about Tenaris´s donations
in an online article: “There are no inaugurations
or plaques above the bridges. No stamping their
global brand on our shirts. Maybe this is because
they can see my dream. For over 100,000 poor
people, who have never heard of the Tenaris’s
name and probably never will, their generous
act speaks the language of hope.”
