MY Country

Freedom is one of the precious gift from God. Similarly, country is a place people live with
liberty. There are 195 countries in the world and Pakistan is one of them. Pakistan, officially
the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is my beloved country which has its own unique political
history, geography, culture and natural resources.

Initially, British was ruling India. Afterward, as a result of hard struggle of Muslim leaders
India was divided into two parts. Thus, Pakistan came into being on 14 Aug, 1947. Quaid E
Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the founder of Pakistan. There are four provinces in
Pakistan naming Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Balochistan and two autonomous
territories (Azad Jamu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan) and one federal territory Islamabad.

Moreover, land surface of Pakistan varies from mountains, plans, plateaus and deserts.
Hamaliyas, highest mountain of the world and Karakoram are the famous ones. The western
part of Koh-Himalaya is located in Pakistan. The highest peak of this mountain range, Nanga
Parbat, 8126 meters high above the sea level is located in Pakistan. The Potwar Plateau and
the Balochistan Plateau are also famous ones. The plains of Pakistan have been formed by
alluvium brought by Indus river and its tributaries that includes the upper Indus plan, the
lower Indus plan and the Indus Delta. An extensive area in the south east of Pakistan is
covered with rolling sand dunes. Thal desert, cholistan desert, Thar and Nara desertand the
chaghai and kharan desert are famous ones.

Pakistani has mixed culture. More than 30 languages are spoken. The major provincial
languages of my country include Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi and Brahvi while the
national language is Urdu. Apart from these language difference in province, there is slight
difference between customs and the ways of living of the people belonging to different
provinces. But the distinction of the cultural heritage of Pakistan is the Islamic civilization
which presented principles of equality, fraternity, brotherhood, justice and truth.

Pakistan is rich in natural resources. These are the resources which the Almighty Allah has
given to different countries of the world. Natural resources of Pakistan includes soil, forest
mineral, water etc. These are the real wealth of nation. Those countries where natural
resource are in plenty have shown tremendous progress and prosperity. However, progress
and prosperity depends on the wise and appropriate utilization of these resources.

On this basis, we conclude that Pakistan has its own distinctive features from a historical
perspective to physical and cultural structure. It is gifted by Almighty Allah to us. It is our
responsibility to care of it and make it one of the developed countries in the world.
