Variables

-from a-z ; any quantity of a numbers; has one or more values; and represents a
number.

2 advantages using a variables

1. You imagined it has one or more values but you don’t know what they are.
2. You want whatever you see about it to be equally true for all elements in
the given set, and so you don’t want to be restricted to considering only a
particular concrete value.
Examples:
 Double it and adding 3 gives the same result as squaring it.
 If it is greater than 2, then it’s square is greater than 4.
