Father of everlasting, grace, Send us the Spirit of thy Son,

Thy goodness and Thy truth we praise, To make the depths of Godhead known,
Thy goodness and Thy truth we prove; To make us share the life divine;
Thou hast, in honour of Thy Son, Send him the sprinkled blood to apply,
The gift unspeakable sent down, Send him our souls to sanctify,
The Spirit of life, and power, and love. And show and seal us ever Thine.

The purchased Comforter is given, So shall we pray, and never cease,

For Jesus is returned to heaven So shall we thankfully confess
To claim and then the Grace impart: Thy wisdom, truth, and power, and love;
Our day of Pentecost is come, With joy unspeakable adore,
And God vouchsafes to fix His home And bless and praise Thee evermore,
In every poor expecting heart. And serve thee as Thy hosts above:

Father, on Thee, whoever call Till, added to that heavenly choir,

Confess Thy promise is for all, We raise our songs of triumph higher,
While everyone who asks receives, And praise thee in a bolder strain,
Receives the Gift and Giver too, Out-soar the first-born seraph's flight,
And witnesses that Thou art true, And sing, with all our friends in light,
And in Thy Spirit walks and lives. Thine everlasting love to man.
