PAST FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE (Bentuk Waktu Akan


Datang Sedang Berlangsung di Waktu Lampau)
Past Future Continuous Tense is a form of time that is used to declare an
action or activity or situation that is happening in the past, but because there is
something or other things then the act will not be carried out.
Sentences using the past tense form of the Future Continuous Tense cannot
stand alone, but there are always other events or actions that follow.

1. Positive sentence patterns used are :


To subject I, We

SUBJECT + SHOULD + BE + INFINITIVE + ING

To subject You, They, He, She, It

SUBJECT + WOULD + BE + INFINITIVE + ING

Note :

Infinitive + Ing, also called Present Participle.


If used with noun verb (not a verb) it must be added with the word Being which
replaces the verb.

Example :

 She would be teaching at the calss by seven o’clock tomorrow morning


 I should be being here in time last night if I didn’t get any trouble on the
way.

2. Negative Sentence Pattern that is used is:
To subject I, We

SUBJECT + SHOULD + NOT + BE + INFINITIVE + ING

To subject You, They, He, She, It

SUBJECT + WOULD + NOT + BE + INFINITIVE + ING


Note :

Should not be abbreviated to shouldn't, while would not be abbreviated to


wouldn't.

Example :

 She would not (wouldn’t) be teaching at the class by seven o’clock tomorrow
morning.
 I should not (shouldn’t) be being here in time last night if I get any trouble on
the way.

3. The question sentence pattern used is :


To subject I, We

SHOULD + SUBJECT + BE + INFINITIVE + ING?

To subject You, They, He, She, It

WOULD + SUBJECT + BE + INFINITIVE + ING?

Example :

 Would she be teaching at the class by seven o’clock tomorrow morning.


 Should I be being here in time last night if I didn’t get any trouble on the way.

The answer to the question sentence above is Yes, .... and No, ...
Example :
 Would she be teaching at the class by seven o’clock tomorrow morning?
Answer :
Yes, she would
No, she wouldn’t
 Should I be being here in time last night if I didn’t get any trouble on the
way?
Answer :
Yes, you would
No, you wouldn’t
TIME SIGNAL
Time signals that are often used in the form of time of the Future Continuous
Tense are:
In March last year
In July last year
In Monday last week
At seven o’clock yesterday
At five o’clock yesterday

2. FUTURE PAST PERFECT CONTINOUS TENSE


Future Past Perfect Continuous Tense is a form of time used to express an
action or condition that should have been going on at a certain time in the past.
1. Passive sentence patterns used are:
To subject, I, we.

SUBYEK + SHOULD + HAVE BEEN + INFINITIVE + ING

To subject, You ,They, She, He, It.

SUBYEK + WOULD + HAVE BEEN + INFINITIVE + ING

Note :
Infinitive + ing can also be called present participle.
Example :
 I should have been studying English three months by last the Januari
 She would the have been teaching for ten years by last year

2. The pattern of negative sentences used is :


To subject, I,We

SUBYEK + SHOULD + NOT + HAVE BEEN + INFINITIVE +ING

To subject, You , They, She, He, It.

SUBYEK + WOULD + NOT + HAVE BEEN + INFINITIVE + ING

Note :

The answer to the question sentence above is Yes, …… and No, ……

Example :

 Should I have been studying English for three months by last January?
Answer :
Yes, you should.
No , you shouldn’t
 Would she would have been teaching for ten years by last year?
Answer :
Yes, she would
No, she wouldn’t
