Day Three 23 May

Topic Assignment on the history of making of periodic table

Day Four: 24 May

Topic Ionization Energy + electron affinity

Sub-topic
Objective To explain the nature of ionization energy and electron affinity and their trends.
Methodology:

Ionization energy: the energy required to remove an electron from a neutral atom. Electron affinity: the
energy change when a neutral atom attracts an electron to become a negative ion. Electronegativity:
the ability of an atom in a molecule to draw bonding electrons to itself.

 Trigger Questions:
o What is priodicity?
 Points to discuss:
o Definition on Ionization Energy + electron affinity
o Nature along periods and down the group
o Affect of Ionization Energy + electron affinity on elements
