I. COURSE NUMBER
RATIONALE
The development of a new plant naturally or artificially without the use of seeds can be
perpetuated through plant propagation to retain the characteristics of plants, increase the number of
plants rapidly and to produce superior strains and disease-resistant plants that will be best suited to
the soil and climate of a place.
In general, young plants are propagated in the nursery with proper care and maintenance.
The young plants are grown to establish the many kinds of orchards and small fruit plantations and
the letter are grown to landscape or beautify homes, public and private buildings, schools, highways,
parks and industrial areas.
