Abdul Kalam Biography: Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam is the 11th president)2002 to 2007) of
India. His full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He is best known as the
"Missile Man" to every common Indian. He was born on October 15, 1931, at
Dhanushkothi in the temple town Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. He was born in a poor
Muslim family, but he was a brilliant child.

After his graduation, he started his carrier as a scientist at DRDO(Defence
Research and Development Organization) in 1958. In 1963 he joined India space
research Organization and was made the project director of SLV-3. He got a call from
INCOSPAR(Indian National Committee for Space research) for an interview he was
interviewed by the person of chairman of ISRO - Vikram Sarabhai. And he got selected
for rocket engineer. Later he worked with Vikram Sarabhai and Kalam for ISRO. And both
of them were developed at the space center. During that period Indian prime minister
Indira Gandhi make a call and appreciate APJ Abdul Kalam for his hard work in India.
some times Satelite "Rohini" was successfully launched. He became an important role in
the Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) in 1963. He developed technologies that
made Indian defense capable of Developing world-class missiles like Prithvi, Akash, Agni,
Trishul, and much more.
Though he was a president. He lived his life very simply. He loved to spend time with
children also. Also, he gave very inspiring speeches by attending meetings at the schools.
And he replied to the questions of children who wrote letters to him. He was the only
person who makes communication with all the people in India. So he got the name
"Peoples President". Without any experience of politics he only one person became a
president to India. He got another chance to be a president but he rejected it and said
that he wants to spend all his life with children's and for students, he wants to teach the
lessons for the students. He was to sacrifice his life to students only.
