HUMAN PERSON IN THE ENVIRONMENT

Significant learning:

Natural Environment plays a big role in the existence of life on earth, without our environment
everything will be useless. We are responsible in taking care of it, so let’s make an action to preserve all
of our natural resources. Our lives are defined by what is around us and what we find in front of us,
whether this means accepting, dealing with or changing it. Human beings are an integral part of the
environment, and because of this they are subjected to the control the environment implies. There are
two frameworks where human can be related this are the Anthropocentric Model and Ecocentric Model.
Anthropocentric Model believes that humans are superior and central to the universe, while Ecocentric
Model valuing nature for it’s own sake. Under the ecocentric there are three theories: Deep Ecology,
Social Ecology and Ecofemenism. Deep Ecology asserting that all life forms have an equal right to exist, it
means that every living things has the right to be respected. Social ecology is defined as the study of
people within an environment, which have influence on one another. While ecofeminism is an
environmental movement of women to have an active participation when it comes to ecological issues.
We also tackles about the Environmental Philosophy, it stated in this philosophy that humans are not
capable to interact only with our fellow human being but also with other living and non-living
elements.Appreciation of natural beauty brings about the concern of environment and also contribute
to well-being of people and other organisms, this was explain by environmental aesthetics. There is a
moral approach that analyzes the connection between the human and environment and this is the
environmental ethics. As a person we have responsibilities that is needed to take an action and this
starts within ourselves that can influence others. Environmentalism addresses the growing
environmental issues and problems that is needed to solve to attain a sustainable development. Above
all this topics one thing that I’ve learn is that as human person that existing in this environment we are
weighing a big responsibility to take care of all our natural resources.

As of now, our world is in constant change because our planet earth is involve on ongoing process
governed by the law of change. This simply means that everything in this world is continuously flowing
and moving in some respect. As we can see, the same principle holds true to our environment. Many of
us may not notice it, but our environment undergoes an unending process of transformation. This is
manifested by the rapid growth and developments in our society, which have made our lives easy and
more convenient. Take, for instance, the creation of mobile phones and electronic gadgets,
infrastructure projects, building of tall establishments, concreting of farm to market roads, creation of
cellular phones and mobile gadgets, production of cars and other vehicles. Indeed, these things gave us
leisure and allowed us to do things easier.

Various rapid changes continue in the advent of economic globalization. For example, as I have already
hinted above, for over a decade we have seen the rising of tall buildings and business establishments,
the booming real estate businesses and the growing numbers of food chains, coffee shops and
entertainments hubs in the urban areas. These developments prove how far we have gone through in
improving and developing our life as human persons. Yet along these developments are the different
environmental issues that pose a threat to our lives as human persons. It is then important that we have
to be aware of these environmental risks, their causes and their harmful effects to us. Because it may
cause a massive environmental problems due to our careless decisions and actions towards our
environment. These environmental problems include air pollution, water pollution, acid rain, climate
change, deforestation, depletion of natural resources, depletion of ozone layer, waste pollution, and
overpopulation. These environmental problems have also damaged billions of properties, destroyed
infrastructure, agricultural and livelihood facilities, and killed millions of people. Despite all these
horrible experiences, many people are still unaware of their responsibilities to their environment and,
thus, continue to practice the bad habit.

This environmental problems that we are facing today have something to do with our irresponsible
actions towards the environment. We can save this environment by urging human persons to consider
the common good when appropriating our natural resources. Truly, this is how we show care for the
environment and at the same time contribute to health, well-being and sustainable development. If we
do this, then we can say that we also have organized things in the environment in an aesthetic way.

PARTIAL AND HOLISTIC P.O.V

Holistic thinking is what you do when you look at the topic as whole and using a big picture perspective.
Generally speaking, the bigger up your perspective, or the more macro- or world-focussed you are, the
larger the pieces of information you will be considering. This is because the ‘whole’ may be larger than
each part within it. This perspective requires an individual to have an open mindset and an ability to get
the general sense or impression regarding a situation. This is usually use when it comes to broad topics
to go through the deeper meaning. On the other hand partial thinking focuses on specific aspects of
situation. The partial view is an important component of analytical thinking as an individual focuses on
certain areas or aspects of a problem in order to understand it. This perspective is a view where one
sees that a certain phenomenon is caused by a single factor. This is based on own opinion of everyone,
this is what they believe and how they interpret it without depending on others opinion. The difference
between the two is that a partial point of view looks at one thing and determines it to be the cause,
while the holistic perspective tries a broader approach to understanding a reality.

REFLECTION:

When it comes to evaluating a certain situation usually I prefer to use the holistic point of view to see
the bigger picture. And besides of that I can learn a lot things from it, moreover I can expand my
knowledge and create a new idea. Holistic Thinking is not just an ordinary perspective it is a combination
of analysis, systems thinking, and critical thinking. In philosophy they utilizes holistic thinking in making
sense of problems and issues related to the human experience because people tend to apply an
analytical perspective when looking at problems or situations. The concept of holistic point of view
encompasses positivity in every aspect of one's life. For example, If I had a problem I always look to the
bright side of it I’m telling to myself that without this problems my life has no thrill and by that I feel so
motivated to go forward. This simply means that if I look to the wider meaning of life I can see beauty
inside of it despite of all the problems that I’m facing right now.

HUMAN PERSON AS EMBODIED SPIRIT

Significant Learning

Man is not a pure spirit nor a lifeless body, but an embodied spirit,a besouled bodily being

Man is substantially body and soul therefore our body substantiates our soul to completely
become as one person. The soul is the animator of the body, the body acts as the matter to the soul and
by that this two become one substance. . Man is not only body, but he is something infinitely higher
among all. The human as an embodied spirit is one which is expressed his/herself to the fullest. It is our
right to and responsibility to give our spirit it’s fullest expression in this body. The opportunity of
becoming a embodied and whole begins at birth and continues throughout our lives. The concept of
human person is what makes us different to other entity.

Reflection

We believe that we are created as “embodied spirits’’ which means our souls are not separate from our
bodies, or our bodies from our souls. We believe that from our conception our souls and bodies are
interrelated. Created as embodied spirits believes we are each given the gift of time to choose to
partner with God in shaping our souls and the souls of those around us. In this way our service to others
shapes our own souls even as their service to us shapes ours

Many people perceive themselves as having "spiritual" experiences while in a human body/mind. For
me, the opposite is the case: I am embodied spirit having the human body/mind experience. The
essence of who I am will never be "in" a body/mind anywhere. In order to interface with this reality, I
am obliged to assume the robes of human experience, which is always imperfect and subject to
suffering. The point of view of embodied spirit does not make me special. However, it does give me an
insight, and a clarity, from which I can proceed in the encounter with embodied experience. It frees me
from a misunderstand-ing which has fueled countless religious illusions of man over the centuries. For
this I am very, very grateful

As embodied spirits, let us all be one with God’s creation in the spirit of love and service exemplifying
“paglilingkod” at “pagmamahal” through cooperativism.
FREEDOOOOOOOM

Significant Learning

Freedom is freeing us from imprisonment of everything. Freedom is simply an opportunity to find a

definition for yourself ,a true and authentic individuality. Genuine freedom is the ability to choose in
every moment the most beneficial action or direction for yourself. Having a freedom is just like a birds
that has freedom to spread their wings and free to fly. -With freedom comes great responsibility,
Responsibility and freedom go together, If you don’t have to take responsibility you can’t have freedom
either. It’s a two side of the same coin, one cannot be experienced without the other. We can say that
we are free to whatever things that we want to do, but we have to remember that behind all of this still
there are things that not all things are taken for granted. Freedom gives us opportunity to live and to be
free we should value the freedom a lot, because without it, we will be just the slaves.

Reflection

Freedom is the power or right to try new things, step out of your comfort zone, take risks, do things in
ways you've never done them before. Everyone might have their own definition of freedom. For me,
freedom is simply an opportunity to find who we really are. It gives us a chance to recognize ourselves
acknowledge what we want.

Being a teenager I can say that I’m not in the state of being free. I’m still in control of my parents, I have
curfew, I am not allowed to get out without the permission of my parents, and until now I still follow
their simple rules since I was a child. I know I’m not the only one who experiencing this situation,
because there are lot of parents that was overprotective when it comes to their children. I know that it’s
annoying sometimes to be controlled by them, but what can I do? It’s their way of parenting. There are
times that I break their rules so that I can be happy too just like others. Honestly, sometimes I get
jealous with others because they can do whatever they want without being controlled by their parents. I
understand my parents because all those things are just for my own sake. They just playing their role as
my parents by giving me amount of love, care, and knowledge, they exert all their efoorts and provide
discipline.

As a role model, their actions teach children the difference between what is right and what is wrong.
Someday I will also be a parent and I am responsible for my children for their safety and to provide
guidance that they needed from me. Because parents knows best!
INTERSUBJECTIVITY

Significant Learnings:

“Intersubjectivity is what makes as humans”

Intersubjectivity refers to how we communicate, relate, and perceive each other as human persons. In
this lesson I’ve learned the sense of having a interaction of one another. By having intersubjectivity in
our daily lives is important to share common underdstandings and connects us to be as one eventhough
we all have differences. Intersubjectivity unites our relationship with each other, without
intersubjectivity our existence in this world will be meaningless. By the use communication we can
interact with one another. The concept of intersubjectivity should implies a strong relationship of one
person to another. And all of us should manifest the importance of having this intersubjectivity because
if we imagine the world this intersubjectivity the concept of being a human being will not be seen at all.

Refelection:

The term intersubjectivity is usually refers to the interaction of two subjects: myself and another
person.Intersubjectivity is a common engagement in which my individual subjectivity is interacting with
others. The people around around us makes a big influence towards ourselves, we adopt what we see
and what we hear in our surroundings either good or bad.

In my 17 years of existence I can say that people arounds me influence me the most, since when I was a
child until now. Once I saw things that is new to me, It gives me a curiosity to try it. Because of others I
learn lot of things that helps me to grow as a person and fill my knowledge to my surroundings. One of
my experience that is best to explain intersubjectivity is that at my young age I learn how to talk early
because as my mom said when I was a child I love to interact with others that’s why everytime people
saying a words it retains in my mind until I can say it too. As I grow up intersubjectivity is always by my
side, actually until now that I’m a teenager whatever will be the trends when it comes to music, clothes
etc.. it always influence to try it or experience it what’s the feeling of having those things.

Without intersubjectivity myself will not be developed and grow. I depend on others, and others
depend on me it is a concept that we will bring forever. We are all members of one body tha’s why we
are responsible for each other.

HUMAN PERSON IN SOCIETY

Significant Learnings:

We are all considered as social animals that needs food, protection and other support system. And
society is place where we can live and survive. Society is made up of people were inhabit to balance
their needs and desires. There are four classifications of societies which is the upper, middle, lower and
