TOPIC

The Coordination and Support Action (CSA) called “Nanoarchitectronics” (NTX) is building an
European Research Community incorporating excellence research centers involved in
electronics, microwave, photonics. Within this program, the research area EXEMI aims at
enabling or improving the performances of electromagnetic (EM) systems over the whole
frequency spectrum through wave-matter interaction at sub-optical nanoscale level.

The goal of this PhD school aims at educating young scientists in various aspects of this
research area such as:

- Concepts and devices borrowed from the radiofrequency domain, applied to

terahertz at nanoscale
- New microwave/terahertz phenomena and devices activated by nano-scale
EM/Optics Interactions
- New microwave/terahertz phenomena and devices activated by nano-scale
EM/Optics Interactions

This PhD school is dedicated to latest theoretical and practical research advances teaching
sessions in these fields. It will consist of both lectures and seminar talks by world-class
specialists who have joined the NTX European action. A special event on “How to control
waves with time materials” will be given by Professor Mathias FINK. Attendees are also
invited to present a poster if they wish (it is highly recommended!), as there will be a poster
session organized to exchange research expertise in multidisciplinary areas and to boost
collaborative initiatives in a friendly atmosphere.
